At the age of 16, I knew I had a passion to care for the elderly. At 19, I organized a youth group and once a week we visited nursing homes. I had a special love and concern even at a young age. Years passed and I found myself a few years ago applying for a position at an assisted living community as an Activity Director. I was hired on the spot and the families and coworkers will vouch for me. I changed so many lives because of my passion . I was determined to make our wonderful senior citizens live again and get excited about life again. It was truly the best experience I've had. I had to resign so I could pursue my calling and career in the Gospel /entertainment industry. I still do this currently, but I do have availability to care for our senior citizens. I absolutely love changing peoples lives/days by simply encouraging and motivating them to live again.
I have a passion to cater for people and it interests me to work with other people. I have the passion and desire to succeed as medical assistant and pursue my career in this field . Having gone through the necessary training, I wish to consolidate my skills and add value to the organisation that will hire me by being efficient and professional.
I became a caregiver when my mother suffered a stroke after open heart surgery. Dementia soon followed so I helped my father take care of her. Bathing, feeding , personal grooming and keeping her safe. I pride myself on being compassionate and putting others needs ahead of my own. I find much satisfaction on improving someone else's quality of life.
I was my mother's caregiver. She had dementia. She lived with us. I sorted out medication to give to her, took her to appts, shopping, I would read to her after I helped change her to her pjs. Prepared special diet for her. I love elderly people. I like that they are lovely, sweet, respectful and full of good stories from their life. I understand not all elderly have those traits and because they don't I adjust myself to accommodate them.
