The love for helping people has always been in me. After school during my junior high/ early high school years, I would go to sit with my mom at her job(nursing home). Doing that made me even more determined to go into the healthcare field. My bright smile and caring attitude is what make so many people love me. I love to just listen to the individuals talk about their long life memories and how life were so many years back. That is what push me more to be a greater person to other. Being able to help others and knowing I made a difference in their life within a few hours, minutes, days or even months. Is what make my day and keep me going. Helping people and being nice is not hard and I'm thankful I was able to help so many.

Hey! One thing I love about being a caregiver is that I get to help the person and family that I'm working with. It makes me really happy when I can help someone out. What I enjoy the most about it is that I just like to make EVERYONE as comfortable as possibly can.

Hello, my name is Joy Arthur. Caring for others have always been my passion. I've worked as a caregiver since 2016. It wasn't until 2018 when I obtained my CNA certification. Before covid I did community service at local nursing homes and funeral home. I enjoy being an assist to all mankind. Knowing that I made a difference in someone life makes my heart smile.. I like being more hands on depending on the setting/facility.

I was attracted to caregiving whenever my grandmother was diagnosed with dementia and began to require home health services to keep her independence. This lead me to work for about 2 years as a CNA and take CNA classes within one of the facilities I worked at. I built connections and trust with my residents by treating them with compassion, patience, and by taking time to care for them fully. I took pride in the fact that all my residents smiled at me when I walked through their door because they knew I would take good care of them. I enjoy spending time with the people I care for. I ask them questions about their life and listen to their stories as I do my tasks. This helps to break the ice and help me get to know them as a person. I have also worked with many residents with a variety of different health issues such as dementia, bed bound patients, hospice patients, and patients with various mental illnesses . I have learned how to adapt my care strategies to each individual I work with to optimize the quality care I can provide. I take special care ensure my residents feel comfortable, secure, and in control of their situations.
