I have had the privilege of being a home care companion for the past 8 years. Helping and caring for others is a satisfying and enjoyable occupation for me. I am quiet, easy-going and attentive. I prefer companionship but can complete light housekeeping and other tasks of daily living. As a certified integrative health coach, my professional stance is that of holistic personal care that encompasses physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of my patient-clients. Am experienced with dementia and Alzheimer's, cancer and Parkinson's, as well as Lyme disease and blindness.
I became a caregiver because I really want to help old people and younger kids who in need of help. And I do like it because it gives me peace and freedom. I love this job I managed to support my family, within the five-year of experience, i have been working with an agency for all my five-year and every one like my service.
My first job, at age 10, was summer companion to my maternal grandmother. Working for the family matriarch required abundant labor (my grandmother was elderly), but the daily chores gave rise to an unexpected pleasure; I liked being responsible. For 12 lovely summers, I cleared the acorns from her croquet court, hiked to the store to buy her groceries, and delivered her (she did not drive) by rowboat to tea at the homes of neighbors. Within the formality of her cottage, I learned to be a responsible member of a household. And whether I felt like it or not, I learned to be good company. Still under my grandmother's spell, I have worked as a lady's companion and as a gentleman's secretary for more than 20 years. Although I am no longer gathering acorns, I accompany my employers on their travels, keep them company at cultural events, edit their memoirs, encourage them to draw and paint. I have found these employments to be congenial and remunerative. They give me great pleasure.
I have over 8 years of experience as a care giver. I am dependable, flexible, punctual, reliable, trustworthy and hardworking. I love my job and always treat my clients as my own family. I have worked with clients of different conditions like Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's, arthritis, scelorisis, stroke, diabetes, hard of hearing, cancer among others. I have skills in hoyer lift, transport chairs, walker, gait belt, wheel chair among other. I offer light house keeping, cleaning, watering plants, errands and shopping, safety and companionship, meal preparations, transport, accompany to doctor's appointments, ambulation and transfers, lbathing and grooming among others.

I take care of people in their own homes ,doing errands medical appointments and light house work.im reliable ,honest, dependable handworker with good communication skills
I have a friendly personality and, that might not be in general what makes me really great at everything I do but, it sure has a high standard that accompanies my level of skills. I don't remember ever failing to an assignment where I embrace "PATIENCE" to top my challenges. That's also one of my considering skill. I categorize myself to a needy position to what everyone is looking for to be happy with life and, it's "SATISFACTION". I always go hard as it requires to reach out satisfaction to all my clients. Because satisfaction plays a major role to success. Everything that brings success comes along with "God, FAILURE, PATIENCE, MOTIVATION, DETERMINATION, HARD WORKING, RESPECT and all that brings SATISFACTION then SUCCESS. What attracted me being a caregiver is the smile I empower to bring to both sides of my clients and their families. I feel a hero to be able to bring peace and joy to elders. Their happiness is what makes me happy. And that's what enjoys me most about being a caregiver. I'd lose count if I'd have to explain about personal achievements I'm proud of but, I'll go with a recent one. Not too long ago, I started a new case where like so many caregivers have tried to work the case out but, found themselves in bad positions to keep up with the assignment. The patient family even said that was their last tryout for their love one because the patient is TOTAL CARE and very demented. She fights a lot and the patient is very strong. Thx God with my skills, I'm the only caregiver that lasts longer with the patient and I'm still running her assignment. I know what song to play to make her take her meds. I know how to approach her to calm her down and make her listen to me and I know how patient that I gotta be to have her get in the shower for me. She's doing way better than before. It's all joy now in this family's house
Because his a independent job. he make me feel like I m working with one of my family. one of them a mom who stay in a apartment by here self she's don't remember nothing for present or what to do for the they. no shower I have to remind her to eat to do most of the thing for the day that king of person cant not stay by here self. I am a nursing student in Quincy College for LPN Mother 4 kids, respect every one.
I have empathy for people who are hurting and wish to see them living as independent in their lives as possible. A caregiver helps that person achieve that or near that goal. That makes the person given care happy and so do I. What would have resulted into depression is taken away leading the individual to enjoy a full and independent life. In one of my daily wonderful days as a caregiver, one of the clients was so so happy having me around that he said, "Fred, as long as I live, you are assured of a job." Being a person with a technical background and with a passion to fix things, my more than eight years of experience as a caregiver/Certified Nursing Assistant and with an Associate Degree in Sciences, And a Handyman, I have enjoyed doing things that help people live a full happy life at their homes and I have made a lot of friends from all sectors of life. At the end of the day you feel proud to have made someone feel better.
