Having worked in the healthcare field for over 31 years. Caregiving for 27 years. I have found assisting people to either regain or maintain their health has been rewarding. However my most rewarding has been assisting the elderly as well as physical and or mentally challenged meet their health goals. As our population grows older, and health challenged, I feel the best respect you can give them is to assist them in maintaining as much of their independence as possible. I currently hold an Associates Degree in Healthcare Administration, I'm currently attending school seeking a bachelors of science degree in Professional Studies.

I have been doing private care off and on for 20 years. I was raised with 3 of my great grandparents and have always been told to respect and help my elders. I feel that many people were not raised with those morals and I pride myself on being a compassionate & caring caregiver. I started out being a caregiver with just my family, and over the years I decided to further my career & education; I was a CNA by 18 years of age, then worked in that capacity for many years, then I was a phlebotomist, a drug screener, a medical office secretary, a clinical medical assistant, and now I am enrolled in college to become a RN. I am very compassionate, empathetic, and understand that elders with dementia issues require a little more care & someone who will not get offended by what they say, and one who will just talk to them with respect. I became a caregiver because it's my way of giving back to my elders an helping them achieve their daily living goals makes me proud.
