I have compassion for people and i have firsthand experience. I have my son who is 25 and autistic and still lives with me putting him in a home is not an option. I understand that people always choose to stay in their homes over a nursing home. I love people and my goal is making them comfortable and happy.
I decided to become a caregiver about 8 years ago while caring for my 86 year old father. He had several medical issuses some include... COPD, seizures, stoke dementia etc. After his passing i realize how important it was to able to care for those who can not care for themselves. I also realize we may all be face with the need of someone to assist us with ADLs, errands and so forth one day. It brings me joy knowing i've helped someone continue to enjoy a quality life despite their limitation. I'm recently in the process of furthing my career in nursing. I'm currently enrolled in school for CNA/GNA which I'm proud of doing for myself. Iam a easy-going, compassionate, funloving a little quite at times self motivated and serious minded female. My passion is to help others make the most out of their life
I'm m a very hardworking and passionate about the career path I have chosen. Assisting the elderly with their activities of daily living and being able to achieve their daily task makes me happy. I became a caregiver because I would like to become a registered nurse in the future and I believe working as a caregiver is a stepping stone for me. Making sure the home is clean at all time for client comfort. Assists with lifting, positioning & transporting client into & out of beds, chairs, bedside commode & wheelchairs. I am Geriatric nursing assistant with two and a half years of nursing experience. I also have ten years of Nursing experience as an RN in Ghana before relocating to the USA in 2016. I am very professional, diligent and above all have empathy for the people I care for. I have passion for the work I do. It has always been my dream to care for the sick and put smiles on their faces hence my reason for becoming a caregiver. My personal achievement I have been proud of is assisting a client with ADL , and then gradually the client became independent in performing her ADLs, and this brought joy to both me and the client because initially she could do only 25% . And as a caregiver I felt proud of that.

I am hoping to start nursing school fall 2017 and would prefer to work overnight Monday thru Wednesday or Thursday but I have open availability and flexibility with my schedule. My personal achievements that I'm honestly most proud of are my children. I am a Certified Nursing Assitant and Cettified Medication Technician through the Maryland Board of Nursing. I am also CPR and First Aid certified.
I'm a 39 yr old mother of 4 children, grandmother to 1 granddaughter. I like being a caregiver because I like being able to help those in need, whether it's physically or mentally. A personal achievement I'm proud of is being able to fill an empty space in my residents life on a daily basis even if it's just helping them pick up something off the floor or just being that extra ear they need to vent when they don't have anyone else. That really makes my day.
I enjoying working with all walks of life of health, taking care of people, assisting with adl' s with the elderly ,ones who are in need of helping them keep as much of there independence. Working with diabetics and giving them the confidence that we can work on projects of the health and try to climb to there goals of there achievements that suite there happiness.
I have been in the caregiving field for over five years. I too have taken on the responsibility of taking care of loved ones until they passed away. I believe you have to have a special gift to be a caregiver and I definitely have been blessed to have that gift.
