I have a very outgoing personality that lends me well to be fun and helpful for folks at home that need assistance. I am tall and strong and this gives families and their loved ones the confidence to have me help their loved one around the house and help them with the daily activities. I am an artist and musician for life and these passions of mine have always been a shining beam of light for those struggling at home. It lends to great conversations and encouraging relationships.
I have never considered working as a caregiver a "job" that I go to everyday. It's my passion and I enjoy greatly working with those who need personal care in any given situation. It takes a special kind of person to be a caregiver; qualities that I possess are compassion, empathy, patience, being a good listener, motivating and being a positive person! What I love about caregiving is providing reassurance to the family and the patient that their loved one is comfortable, content and peaceful. Respecting the families wishes and knowing that they are putting their trust in me makes me go the extra mile.
I have been in the field for over 10+ years now. I enjoy helping other with the care that they need, I mostly enjoy the companionship and the stories that I am told. I have achieved multiple goals in my life and one of them was being able to take care of my great grandmother. Taking care of my grandmother at a very young age, I felt the need to expand my services to others. Iam a very kind hearted person, I have a big heart, fun and a reliable person. I treat my client like family.
I LOVE WHAT I DO! At 14 yrs old I was a candy striper at Harper Hospital for the summer. Ever since then there is an indescribable joy I feel knowing that i can be of help to a person in need. Maintaining a positive attitude and a warm smile seems to work wonders when others are having a not so great day. I am very patient and encouraging. I have worked with rehab patients, hospice, mentally challenged as well as alzheimers/dementia. I have almost 20 years experience but never stop learning as each person is unique.
I been a caregiver for 6 years now. My journey So far has been on the whole, wonderful. I have had the honour to meet some amazing people I wouldn't normally have met and they have become, with their families, great friends too. I have been able to further my knowledge and skills set by being given free training on a range of different subjects, adding to my personal growth and education. I've worked in Nursing Homes and group homes also. Being a caregiver is what I enjoy most it has always been my passion for helping others with their daily living needs. I would be honored to be your caregiver, Consider me. :)
What makes me a great caregiver is my smile, positive attitude and I'm caring. I love to help others in any way I can whether it is physical, mental or emotional, I'm a good listener. With all my hard work and dedication I am still progressing in my career, I will be attending school again to continue my career to become a Registered Nurse.
I became a care giver because i enjoy helping others.I love being a part of someone's life that i can make a difference in weather it be to help maintain the quality of life they have and keep their dignity,or providing end of life care. I am focused on the person as well as their family. I am 1 of 5 children,I grew up in a loving christian environment where morals and values were strongly instilled. I lost my father at a young age and lost 2 brothers to complications of diabetes in 2014 and lost my mother April 2017 due to renal disease and cardiovascular disease and lost my grandmother July of 2017. I am married to my best friend of 22 yrs we have 4adult children and 2 precious granddaughters.I am very trustworthy and take pride in my work and again i take my work very serious. I have been a certified nurse aide since 1996 to the present.
What makes me an awesome caregiver is that I'm willing and ready to learn and advance my knowledge in the health care field,Which is why I went back to school to become a certified nursing assistant. I am very dependable, hard working and a joy to be around. What got me into the health care field was my grandmother. She began to get really sick and wasn't able to take care of herself anymore, so I stepped up and began to help her out. After helping out my grandmother, working in this field began to grow on me so I decided to start going private duty.
I really enjoy helping and caring for those who need help. I've been in the medical field for 7 years (right out of high school). I love worked in just about every area there is, independent, assisted, memory care, hospice care, and I worked in a hospital setting. I enjoy being able to see and put smiles on the faces of my residents/patients and help them with the things they are no longer able to do.
I became a caregiver because it's my passion. When I was a child my mother was diagnosed with cancer. I watched my mom raise my sister and I even though she was sick and in pain most days. I was the daughter of a patient, the sister of a patient. I love helping people, comforting them when they're sick. Having compassion when they feel like their dignity is gone. I believe it takes a special kind of person to take care of others. If you're in this field for money then it's the wrong field for you. You have to have to know that everyday will be easy going, you must have patience.
I am a empathy, this is the reason why I choose this profession. I believe you can't truly help someone if your not feeling what they are going through. I love to see happiness and comfort on everyone's face. I am that push of encouragement when there's none in site. Great listener, I love a good story preferably a true story, and I will always have one to match. I once got a pass client of mine to walk around the block with me with out hitting any of the neighbors walking by. It wasn't easy, it took weeks, but it was never an impossible task for my client or myself. I'm very delicate and patience and understanding, always fair and safety is defiantly first.
