I am a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) with the State of Michigan. I received Basic Life Support certification in CPR and AED with the American Heart Association. I graduated from Dorsey Emergency Medical Academy at the top of my class. I am a caring person by nature and I enjoy assisting individuals to enjoy as independent of a lifestyle as they are willing and able. I take great pride in providing quality care, companionship and dignity to each individual according to their needs. I am trained to assist or provide the activities of daily living, as well as being trained in restorative care. I am meticulous and detail oriented and compassion comes easily to me. I pride myself in excellent individual care and cooperation within a larger care team.

I have over 20 years experience in the healthcare field. I have worked with all types of patients. I have colostomy, uriostomy, trach care, g-tube feeds, straight cathing. I am patient, kind and compassionate. I have worked extensively with alzheimer's and dementia patients. I know the key is to keep their mind sharp, however that happens. Puzzles, games, or just talking about memories that keep them thinking. I like to think outside the box and get the job done. I have a great sense of humor and my clients feel at ease with me. I treat them as if they were my mom, dad, grandma, grandpa etc.

I became a caregiver at the age of 19. I have been employed in nursing home facilities and by individuals (couples). I have cared for my grandparents while they suffered from cardiac issues, dementia, anurisuims, and kidney failure. I have owned and operated a group child care facility while my children were growing up. I have raised three of my own children, a neice, nephew, and two grandchildren. I have worked for over 14 years as our church nursery supervisor. I am fun, energetic, creative, dependable, and resourceful. I have cared for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, ALS, HNPP, heart conditions, incontinence, cancer. I am able to assist with personal needs, (dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, medications, housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal preparation, errands, appointments, yard work, physical and memory exercises), and most of all provide companionship. I feel it is important for individuals to engage in activities (as they are able). I am very resourceful, creative, reliable and dependable. I am trained empathic listening skills, grief, c-pap, bi-pap, cough assist, feeding tube, basic first aid, adult and child/infant CPR certification. I have a clean driving record. I just moved here from Arizona, to come and be with my husband's family. Getting use to alot of new things. I have three kids of my own and three step kids as well as two grandchildren and two more on the way. I have ton of experience doing caregiving for about ten years now, and I can't see myself doing anything else.
