Empathy - Great caregivers are able to cultivate closer bonds by sharing in the happiness or the sadness of the senior they care for. Patient - Caregivers understand that slowing down is a process of aging. A great caregiver allows the elderly to move at their own pace and not make them feel rushed. Dependable & Honest - Caregivers work with a great deal of independence. A great caregiver must be counted on to be where he or she is required to be on time and prepared as well as to perform required duties in the absence of continuous supervision Compassionate - Great caregivers possess a powerful desire to help others, especially seniors. Caregiver is one of the best jobs I have ever had. I am blessed to call myself a caregiver because I'm trusted to do God's work, right here on earth and i love every bit of it. Being a caregiver is not all about money to be, it takes the heart and courage to help those whom have lost hope with life and gives them another chance at living life. I begun caregiving when my uncle was diagnosed with brain Cancer. It made me who I am today. He taught me to cherish life even when you are gone because no one knows when it's time to leave earth. I love being a caregiver and helping others. It's my passion. [?]
I am dedicated committed adaptable and well organized i am sincere and poise what got me in to being a caregiver was a close friend of my family had a stroke and was paralyzed on her left side and i took care of her for years what i enjoy most about being a caregiver is just being able to help and see the smiles on there faces to laugh and talk with them i love the elderly population I developed a love for care giving in 2012 when my Godmother suffered an ischemic stroke. I began caring for her and I did so for 4 years until her passing. What I love most about being a caregiver is being able to help someone and see them smile everyday. I am well organized, poised, and adaptable under any circumstances. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for the elderly population and will do anything to assist them in any way possible.
I have my master's degree in occupational therapy and 2 minors in psychology and geriatrics. I have over a year's experience as a therapist in various nursing homes, swing bed hospitals, and outpatient clinic. I am looking for work as a caregiver while searching for OT jobs in the area so I can continue to use my skills.
when I was growing I didn't have many friends, until this older lady named Betty Dozer, came to me and took a interest in me. she never had any kids, so in way I was her kid. She taught me so many things, but most importantly how to read. she is the reason why I am currently pursuing a degree in therapeutic recreation, so I may work at nursing homes as a activities director. I am very empathetic, and easy to talk to. I love going on walks, playing with animals, and playing bingo. To me a caregiver is to be compassionate, helpful, and understanding. When I interned at Wisteria GArdens for a summer I work with residents to enhance motor, and brain skills. Also I would take them on field trips to walmart, and bass pro. My favorite activity I did with the residents was painting nails, and chatting with the residents.
