I became a CNA when a client of mine was administered to a long term care facility and I realized while visiting her that this is what I needed to do. What I enjoy most is making them feel safe and happy. I'm proud of the fact that I cared for a families mother for more than 5 years and did my best to make her healthy and happy.

What makes me a great Caregiver is my ability to listen, have trust from others and patience. I worked with severely disabled adults from 2008 to 2015 and Seniors from 2015 up until now 2021. I enjoy helping individuals live and have a better quality of life.

My "first career" consisted in working for the government for 18 years as a contacting officer, which I retired from in 2005. This did not fulfill my needs and passion to be in the healthcare community, which I always secretly longed to do. I became a caregiver because I liked working with the elderly. I'm a people person and I enjoyed helping others. My most personal achievement was getting my certification as a nursing assistant. I'm from North Carolina, I'm married with three children and three grandchildren and I moved to Virginia after graduation. I work at the motel for years as a housekeeper. I enjoyed meeting and talking to people from everywhere. I knew that I wanted to do more and I have always had a reverence for the elderly because of their wisdom and that's why I decided to go and get certified so that I can help them in whatever capacity they may need.
