I enjoy knowing that I help make a persons life a little easier.I helped take care of my grandmother and I remember how she would smile when we would just sit and talk or do puzzles just spending time together.Family is great and I always treat my patients like they are family.I like to see each patient enjoy their life to the very best of there ability.I have great references and I really enjoy my job and the clients I work with too.

I am very happy and upbeat. I love helping and caring for people. I love giving companionship and care. I assisted taking care of an elderly woman in her last year of life. I gave her some many laughs and kept her happy in her life. I helped her walk for her family on Mother's Day. I took her last family photo. I had her do a thankful bowl for her family. It was the hardest and best year of my life!! I grew to consider all as part of my family as well as them considering me as well. It is a very fulfilling job, helping others help themselves.

I love love to care for people who cannot care for themselves. Caring for the elderly enables them to not worry about the things they cannot do anymore and celebrate the things that they can, not only supporting them in their care needs, but also providing them with a valued friend and confidant. 1. Honestly, I became a caregiver not realizing the extent of care that was needed in the field. I observed my mother providing care for my father before he passed, and it was hard for me to see him passing away. Since I have become a caregiver, I understand the quality of care that is needed in order to help rehabilitate those who are dependent upon someone they can trust. 2. In this field,I have learned a lot about myself as a person. I never expected to become educated on the subject of self. I have learned that you should not take life for granted, disabled does not mean that a person is not human and that they want to be treated special because of their disability, how the small things in life mean so much to a person when they are unable to provide for themselves such as: a warm hello, brushing their hair, putting fresh flowers in a vase on the dresser or kitchen table. 3. A personal achievement that makes me proud is that, over the years, I can greet most family members that I have provided care for, and they smile and welcome me with memories of how I touched their lives as a caregiver for their loved ones, or those that I have provided care for to rehabilitate them during their short recovery. 4. What is calming to the mind as a caregiver is, going home that day knowing that you have made a difference in someone else's life. I'm a great listener. I'm dependable and very responsible. These traits will help me be a great caregiver. The one thing that attracted me the most is helping people reach there highest potential because through my life I have always had to help others get through good and bad times. A caregiver that is flexible is most important to ever clients needs. My biggest achievement is raising my two children to the age of accountability.

I am retired and active, my background has been in the Human Services field since graduation from college, 20+ years ago. I have had the opportunity to work with adolescents, persons with intellectual disabilities, in group home setting, it gave me great pleasures to assist them with reaching their potential, to learn basic living skills. I am patient, and nurturing, and attentive to details. I enjoy assisting persons with their basic needs, grooming, meal prep, assisting into the community. I also have worked with persons that have mental health issues and am certified as Qualified Mental Health Professional. I have been certified in CPR and First Aid. I do drive and have reliable transportation and a good driving record. I have obtained a background check from Sheriff's office in Fayetteville, NC, and have driving record also.
