I became a senior caregiver almost two years ago, prior to that I worked in disability for five years. Many of my friends say that I have a lot of compassion and would have made a great mother. My strengths are the ability to listen, be quiet, enter the persons world I am responsible for. I feel strong about acknowledging people's dignity especially as we age and become dependent.
Over the past two years I have worked with approximately two dozen different seniors, all with different needs, and circumstances. What do I like about being a caregiver? Knowing that I am truly adding value to someone's life is one of the most rewarding experiences I can have and I feel very blessed and grateful for each of them. A personal achievement that I am very proud of is that I founded and community magazine while living in Australia that gives a good wholesome reflection of the lives and communities in a rural area. I sold the magazine to an Australian before I returned to the states and the magazine is still going strong! I am a Christian but acknowledge all religions. I am a very open hearted person, and would love to meet with any family who thinks I might be the right person to assist their loved one.

In addition, I have a degree in Radiology Technology with over 20 years of experience in hospitals, managed a medical office and responsible for patient care. I am seeking a position as a caregiver, companion/assistant. I would also be available as a caretaker for a private property. My personal experiences in care giving include: 3 years caring for my mother until her death, 2 years caring for a friend until her death, and 9 months care giving for a friend until her death. My qualifications include: well-educated, medical experience over 20 plus years (classes taken for CNA), good listener, very organized and good at organization, attention to details, knowledge of nutrition and health issues. I have excellent references, sent upon request. In the case of a job as a property caretaker I would be more available due to this type of postion. Due to my educational and medical experiences, I work very well with others and patient.

I am a dependable, healthy, hard-working individual. In addition I have more than twelve years of healthcare experience - in home care and in a hospital. I am interested in focusing on home care as I find the one-on-one relationship more personal and rewarding and have the skills and temperament to do the work. The accomplishment I am proudest of is having owned and operated a successful cafe/coffee shop.
I have been a nurse for 10 years. I am currently working in an administrative position within a doctor's office. I love my job but I miss being a "hands-on" nurse. I began my career as a nurse aid in an assisted living facility and I immediately knew that I had found my calling. I have a true passion for helping others. Providing hands-on assistance is rewarding, but getting to know my clients and work to improve their situation or outlook is what I strive to do. Whether it's through preparing meals, cleaning house, assisting with bathing and grooming, running errands, or just spending time bonding with my client I strive to make my visit something that they look forward to. Those that know me say that I have a servant's heart. I spend my time at my full time job looking for ways to improve care. I spend my time off with my family or volunteering/ fundraising for nonprofits. I pride myself on my love for others and treat everyone as if they are my family.
I am attentive, personable, reliable, empathetic and dedicated! I enjoy helping people/families in need with their daily challenges and struggles. I work well independently.
I am a hard-working, attentive, compassionate, and conscientious caregiver, and have found helping seniors to be very rewarding. I was privileged to work for a family for the past 8+ years, providing care and support to my employer's wife as she battled Alzheimer's Disease. I provided supervision and companionship, assisted with all ADL's and as the disease advanced, provided end of life care when she became bedridden. It was a very slow, sad journey for her (and her family and caregivers), but I consider myself blessed to have been a part of her caregiving team!
I am a very out going caring individual who loves to help others it's my passion I enjoy being a caregiver because just seeing the smiles on there faces the way they look at you and always so grateful to have someone not only to do house work but someone to talk to
I became a caregiver after taking care of my son's grandmother, I seen how strong the need was for CNA's doing in home&nursing homes I love taking care of people&helping people and why not do something I love&help people
The reason i love being a caregiver ia because i love to hear from my clients thank you and what will i do without you. I love putting a smile on their face and as well. I treat my clients just as I wanted to be treated .
Before I became a care giver I had years or experience dealing with healthcare issue in an administrative capacity as well as navigating the system to find appropriate care for my own parents. I loved finding solutions and dealing with issues which would help loved ones improve the quality of life for their family member. These experiences lead me to want to provide hands on care/companionship for those needing more assistance than their families could provide. I've worked privately for families, and through agencies, with my main goal being to enhance quality of life. My clients have all been in the later third of life, most having some form of dementia often with no family close enough to visit on a regular basis.
When I worked on my own, it was easier to participate in more actives with client, such as spending holidays together. One year in particular my client and I bought her Christmas tree and other live decorations from the local garden club. We decorated the house beautifully, and prepared together a wonderful Christmas dinner. My family and I including our three dogs, spent the whole day with the client. We all thought it was the best Christmas ever, except poor "Kitty", who was not to thrilled with the canine guests. We took lots of pictures and sent to the client's daughters who lived out of state. They were so pleased to see how happy and relaxed their mother was.
Hello! My name is Miriam Miller and I am a 23 year old student who would absolutely love to support you and your family in caring for your loved one. My first experience as a caregiver was for my own mother who battled stage three bladder cancer. I was her main caregiver; preparing food for her, taking her to the restroom, managing her meds, taking her to doctors appointments and keeping her in good spirits. I also served as a in home caregiver for a woman in her 70's in Washington state. I prepared all of meals, did her laundry, her gardening, all transport as well as assisting her in downsizing all of her belongings. I now work in a memory care facility providing services to elderly on the dementia and alzheimer's spectrum. I am currently working on pursuing a nursing degree and would love to partner with you and your family in providing quality care for your differently abled loved one. Thank you for taking the time to pursue my profile! I look forward to talking with you further about your families needs and desires.
I care for others as if they are my own family. My way of thinking is treat them as I'd want someone caring for my grandparent/parent to be treated. I became a caregiver after watching my grandfather being cared for. I love being a caregiver. Since childhood I wanted to be a nurse but since becoming an stna I prefer the one on one vs just giving them their medication. I completed my two year medical assistant degree.
