Caregiving is I think an honor to help individuals get a better quality of life being at home in their own homes. What I like about being a caregiver is being able to show a client how being at home can be fun, enjoyable and mostly safe for them. I am most proud of myself for a few reasons. Losing an excessive amount of weight. After a loss of a child I gained a large amount of weight and when I had my son, I was larger than life. But as years went by I needed to start taking care of myself. Have lost over 583 lbs in 33 years. Also achieving getting back up on my own raised my son and became a Licensed Nurse's Assistant with home care and nursing homes. Did many kinds of employment but always came back to nursing. I have been taking care of people all my life! I started out at 16 years old as a nurses aide and worked my way up to an RN while raising my family. I have experience with children, disabled children and adults, geriatrics and hospice. My belief is the patient/clients needs come first. I am open and honest . I stay calm during a crisis and maintain my patient/clients dignity at all times.
