I became a care giver to be able to take care of people whose loved ones where far or stretched and needed an extra pair of hands. Meeting new people, getting to know them and being able to help them with their basic needs gives me satisfaction. One of my achievements was being able to care for a depressed client who after sometime started liking getting out of bed in the morning; I read to them and often took short walks with them. The small things make a difference in the lives of the people we care for.

I am a compassionate energetic female with a good sense of humor. I have 15+ years experience. First as a cna and then as a licensed nurse working with hospice and geriatric clients . I am very dependable. Both my parents had hospice at home. I know the importance of being some where when people depend on you. It is rewarding for me to know that families feel a sense of relief that their loved ones are in good hands when I care for them
I have empathy for people who are hurting and wish to see them living as independent in their lives as possible. A caregiver helps that person achieve that or near that goal. That makes the person given care happy and so do I. What would have resulted into depression is taken away leading the individual to enjoy a full and independent life. In one of my daily wonderful days as a caregiver, one of the clients was so so happy having me around that he said, "Fred, as long as I live, you are assured of a job." Being a person with a technical background and with a passion to fix things, my more than eight years of experience as a caregiver/Certified Nursing Assistant and with an Associate Degree in Sciences, And a Handyman, I have enjoyed doing things that help people live a full happy life at their homes and I have made a lot of friends from all sectors of life. At the end of the day you feel proud to have made someone feel better.

I have always enjoyed helping people so I know I am doing the right thing. what I love being a caregiver is meeting new people and providing caregiving services that they can no longer do for themselves. I always give 100% and do the best job I can, with no exceptions or excuses. I also try to bring a sense of humor to my work. If I can add a smile or laugh to a client’s day, that means a lot to me. It is important to laugh. I have been working at assisting and memory care facilities over 3 years . Now I'm looking home care because I wanted to see home care facilities works and challenge myself in self working environment area.
