* What are your personality traits or expertise that help you be a great caregiver. I enjoy interacting and investing time in the clients hobbies and interests. I have given all levels of care, from elderly (including but not limited to Dementia) to disabled, and TBI individuals. I have been a medication technician in several previous postions, as well. * What attracted to you being a caregiver? The diversity of the clientele and the needs they have. I find that I easily connect with the people I work with because I listen and can adapt to each individual and their needs. * What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? Spending quality time and making my clients feel as independent as possible. Such as achieving goals, running an errand, making a meal together or even something small. If it makes them smile and helps them that means the world to me because I assisted in making that happen. * What is a personal achievement you are proud of? My children. My greatest achievement is how well they've grown. Helping them become the people they are. Seeing them progress and having them tell me about how they've used what I have taught them to succeed. I like to inform my clients and their families ahead of time: I have colored hair (currently pink and purple), a nose piercing and modest visible tattoos. I'm happy to wear long sleeves and/or a mask if it makes anyone uncomfortable. My pay is definitely flexible. The app would not allow me to leave it blank. I possess a high level of attention to detail as well as a willingness to do what needs to be done. I always go above and beyond my scope of practice to help my clients achieve the maximum level of independence while acting as a supplement to their abilities. In my opinion, assisting with activities of daily living goes well above and beyond just personal hygiene and meal prep. It means helping the client stay engaged in the community as desired. Getting out and continuing to be active as able. I excel with clients and families that are looking for high quality care as well as compassion and drive to achieve. I like to push for whats possible and work well with a family and care team that is actively involved with day to day on goings and encourages client to maintain maximum health and independence regardless of affliction or disability. The best part about being a caregiver is assisting clients in being as independent and comfortable as possible. I have a deep respect for the values and character strengths I see in my clients. It is a privilege to take care of them. I enjoy providing direct care, cooking simple nutritious meals, and doing what is needed to maintain their homes.

I became a caregiver when I realized how much I loved assisting and helping elderly, as I do my own grandparents. I started out first with a private patient, a retired Firefighter, whom I acquired thru a family friend and became his full time CG! Once my job was longer needed I knew I had to get certified and back into the field, and that's where I found my first agency to work for. My greatest personality trait would have to be my smile and willingness to be an open ear to my patients. One of my personal achievements that I am proud of gaining along with being a certified HHA is graduating with my associates degree. I have to say what I enjoy the most being in the field is knowing I made a difference in my patient's or their families lives.

I've worked with children and my 95 year old great grandmother. I am now working with a wonderful 87 year old woman. I have cpr/first aid certificate and basic life support certified. I'm passionate about what I do and will help in anyway I can.
