I have compassion, and I'm very caring.

I have a passion in caring for the elderly. I became a caregiver several years ago. I began my journey when my partner's grandmother was diagnosed with Dementia & Parkinson's disease. I decided to alleviate the family from the day to day stresses that come along when your caring for a loved one.. Originally I had just volunteered. What I like about being a caregiver is: I enjoy helping people and it has taught me to not take life for granted. I feel fortunate and thankful for my health. This career by far has taught me to have compassion and how important it is for the family to feel secure with the care provided. I became a bondsman at a very young age and was then licensed as a solicitor for a bonding company. I had my own office at the age of eighteen. I always excel quickly in my positions. Just helping others makes me feel good about myself. Simply knowing I can brighten someone's day. My mother became very ill, and I ended up taking care of her. I know first hand how stressful it is on the family when your loved one is no longer able to function in day to day life. I think how would I want my mother to be cared for. She ended up passing. I grew to love everything about care giving. It really hits close to home and I know how I would want my family member treated if my mother was being cared for. I strive to maintain a positive attitude. Care giving is so much more than a job to me . It has helped me to be more grateful of life and people. I'm proud of the person I am and have became. I am a hard worker. I have integrity, compassion, I take pride in what I do. I'm an outgoing person, very kind ,dependable, hard working, self sufficient, quick learner and adaptable to any situation. I can assure you I am perfect for any position due my expertise, my knowledge, and my experience. I am cpr certified Mar certified and I have had years of training in this field.. Am a hard worker. Safety come first make sure I listen and communicate with answers and questions the rite understanding. I triple checked everything I do am very responsible and respectful.if I don't no the answer I we find it. Am not Perfect but I get tge job done. I stay in shape and work out my health is very important to me and my patients.

Hi, my name is Connie and I became a caregiver because I enjoy taking care of others. If someone is in my care and they are able to be comfortable and content in their own home, then I've accomplished my goal. I had taken care of a 91 yr old gentleman who was a lovely, funny, sharp witted and very family oriented personality. We had a very good relationship for the 7 yrs. that he was in my care. I had to do just about everything. That included daily wakening, helping him get bathed, hair combed, sometimes needed help dressing . I prepared all his meals, cleaned up the kitchen, bedroom, his bathroom, den, and living room. It was a small house, so not a lot to clean. I made him his favorite meals, he loved to eat and loved sweets too. In the winter, I baked him his favorite cookies,,, that made him very happy! He enjoyed when I arranged rides for him to see his family on the weekends and special days too .I arranged all doctor appts too. He spoke of his wife quite often. As his dementia got worse he would talk to her in his sleep. I believed she was always with him. He had a pacemaker and aortic valve that was only working 30%. As he got weaker, he needed help walking around and doing steps in and out of the house. I helped him do some PT that the doctors wanted for him. He had severe aortic stenosis. He knew his time was coming to an end on this earth. This was a man with a very big heart that was broken because he missed his wife so immensely that passed away the week before I came to him. He is in heaven now with her where he wanted to be all the years he survived living without her. His family told me that he wouldn't have survived living in his home without my care and companionship for anymore than a year or two. I believe that was very true. He wrote poems to her to express his love, grief, and yearning for them to be together. I believed his wife called for him to come home to her where they would both be happy and reunited again.
