I believe that I am a great caregiver because this term represents two different concepts that I am passionate about: care and giving. One of the most vital characteristics of a dedicated caregiver is the ability to provide comfort to individuals who need it most, and the most rewarding byproduct of this field is the gratitude and appreciation I perceive from the patients. I became a caregiver for two main reasons; primarily because the ability to assist others appeals to me. The other reason why I entered this field is because ever since I was young, I have appreciated the efforts of caregivers around me who altruistically performed their duties for both relatives and acquaintances. There's a difference between providing a service and providing a service with a full heart and with the intent to not only perform a duty, but to also be human. I recognize that this is a stressful time in the client lives, and that during the present, it is most important to give them the attention that they require in order to heal both physically and even mentally. What I am particularly proud of in terms of my achievements are that I achieved my intended goals and wanting to obtain an Associate Degree as a registered nurse. This is something that I always wanted to accomplish, and as I am currently working on my BSN. My perseverance have surprised even myself, as I did not know that I was this passionate about my career and that expanding it to its full potential would give me so much pleas

I have been in the medical field for almost 35 yrs. This is my passion and my comfort zone. I came to the USA with the plan to continue my nursing and started as a private contractor, doing home care. I have been in part-time companion care since 2012 while working full time as a Nursing assistant/file clerk at NYU Winthrop University hospital. This is a job you have to love to do it. Understanding the various medical and psychological changes in an individual as they age is a great asset and I do. My humanitarian personality has helped me to be successful in my profession but I needed to step down a little and just to companion care after I resigned from WUH for personal reasons. The individual who hires me will not only be comfortable and safe but can depend on me to recognize any physical, emotional, medical or psychological changes. I know my job because this is the job I love.

After seeing so many catastrophes and needs in our world, I decided I wanted to make a difference and give my particular skill set, ethics, compassion and pride to those who are in need. I have been working in Home Care in NYC and enjoy the people I meet, working to keep them at their optimum level of health and remain in their own home. Working with families is essential to assure total care in a holistic and whole mind/body manner. I have been a Registered Nurse for two years. This is my mid-life change career after working in the Entertainment/Television Industry. Nursing and HealthCare have been in my mind since my teens.

I am a responsible, sweet, polite and caring professional with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree and a New York State Registered Nurse license. I have first aid and CPR certification for health care providers. I have been employed as an aide at a physical therapy and rehabilitation clinic for two years and am also a Red Cross volunteer nurse. I am looking to provide temporary part-time senior care and companionship. My recent work experience was with an in-home care agency. I have catered to different client needs and conditions--physical limitations, dementia, renal failure, diabetes with glucose monitoring and insulin injections, stroke, heart diseases, post-operative care needs, wound care, colostomy, tube feedings, terminal illness and other special needs. I have established great working relationships with their families as well. The most rewarding part of working in long-term care is being able to see the progress my clients make. I firmly believe in providing adequate quality care and companionship without compromising independence and dignity. I love taking walks with my clients, as well as listening to their stories and experiences. I also perform medication administration, light housekeeping, hygiene assistance, laundry and meal preparation. I do not smoke and am comfortable around pets.
