I am 31 years old and have been a CNA since 2010. I also starting doing home care on top of nursing home care and absolutely love it. I love making people smile and helping them with daily task they need assistance with to make their day go a lot easier and happier. I look at my clients as family. I treat them as i would want my family memeber to be treated.

What attracted me into being a caregiver is because i love helping people. Getting older is apart of life so i put myself into my residents shoes if i was in their position i would want someone that truly care to take care of me not someone that's just doing the job for the money. I am very dependable, focused, determind, fast learner, team player, loving, kind, respectful, I love the elderly. I discovered at the age of 12, when i was helping my grandmother take care of her older sister who had altimers and she allowed me after she showed me how to wash her, help her brush her teeth, dress her and feed her and it was not only fun but my aunt enjoyed me helping her, made me feel good inside and we took care of her until she had to go to a nursing home and that was when I was 14 yrs old. When I got older I knew I wasnted to talk care of the elderly , but wanted to make sure so at 16 my 1st job I worked in the kitchen as a dietary aide and i would delivery trays and I see all the elderly and it made my heart just melt for them and specially when they ask me to help with something I could being a dietary aide, so I left kitchen and still wanted to make sure so I went into housekeeping and I was happy because I was closer now to the elderly and I can see more, but that still wasn't pleasing to my heart desires so now im 24 just got married to my high school sweetheart and soldier in 08 and I was a pca and giving showers to the elderly and i loved it and I knew now that Im married I am going to go for it and I did Im a cna and been doing this for 8yrs total now and the reason I am not a nurse yet is because I love the more hands on care for the elderly than just giving them pills and spending short time with them. I love my job because its not just my job, its my calling to GODs ppl.
