My grandmother took me and my siblings in when we were small children, and as she got older, I felt that I had to return the favor when she was no longer able to do the things that she was able to do before, my loving grandmother is no longer with us anymore, so it's one of my passions to be of help to other individuals who may be a little more assistance rather that's personal care, housekeeping, running errands, companionship care, grocery shopping, medication, reminders, and much more. One of my personal achievements that I'm very proud of would be starting my own non-medical home care agency here in Cincinnati, Ohio. I am Currently in the Ohio Army National Guard, I like to workout, highly motivated and I am punctual. A personal achievement that I am most proud of is, finally getting enough confidence to take on nursing school, I know how tough it can be but I am ready for whatever future endeavors are in store for me.

My career was in business. I retired at a young age. I went into the health care industry from a suggestion of a relative who worked at a large local hospital. I worked there for 6 years and cared for hundreds of patients each having different illnesses. This background caused me to decide I would like to become an independent provider due to my experience. I particularly enjoy caring for elderly men with dementia. What I've found is their long term memories are interesting and have heard interesting stories especially from WWll veterans. I try to become "part of the family" with each patient. I try my best to help each patient maintain their dignity, be comforting, gain their confidence provide friendship and assure a safe environment. In all my past working experiences caregiving is my most satisfying.

I have been a caregiver over 20 years (long term, rehab, old timers unit patients, and etc). I care about the elderly and people that need help and cannot help themselves. Having parents that died in their 60's from cancer it was nice having the experience to be able to take care of them from their homes. Have done homecare over 5 years and really enjoyed working with the family's.
