I became a caregiver for my aging parents and later for my Aunt. I know how much joy it brought to them knowing that someone was there to help them and it gave me peace of mind knowing that they were safe and taken care of. I am an experienced STNA caregiver with ten years of experience. I truly enjoy being a care giver because I know how important it is to have someone you can trust with your loved ones. It makes me feel great when the family truly appreciate the care and treatment I give and I' m made to feel like I'm part of their family. I've worked in private homes, assisted living facilities, dementia care units and with hospice patients. I love my career and look forward to assisting families during a most challenging time in their lives. I am compassionate, caring, trustworthy and patient. I became a caregiver because I wanted to help others. My grandmother suffered from Alzheimer's disease. What I like most is enteracting with my clients, and getting a welcoming reaction out of my clients and their families. My personal achievement that I'm proud of, is being a child of God. Striving to live in love. I am the most caring person you will ever meet. I don't mind helping others and I absolutely love children.
I know that my best traits are being patient, empathy, compassionate, and encouraging my clients and I love to make them smile. I started out working with my multi handicap son, and I spend so much time with him and his development as child, I most definitely knew I could take care of the elderly I knew I had a lot of experience taking care of my son.. I have a big heart and I enjoy helping others that are in need of help. At the end of the day I feel satisfied helping out with someone's ADL's. When my son was born the doctors told me he wouldn't be able to walk, talk or do anything for himself, well I proved them wrong I worked with my son and also going to different workshops for multi handicap babies and children. My son began to do the things the doctors said he wouldn't . That is greatest accomplishment for me personally.
My name is Escherica Medley and I am using this medium to apply for the job position and give you a little more information on my qualifications. Flexible, compassionate, and energetic are three words that describe me very well. I was born to help people. I've always wanted to work at a place where I have the ability to make people feel better with my words, actions, and positive attitude. I don't mind working hard physically and emotionally, because I know that I am making a difference in the lives of others. I understand that having dementia or conditions/ disabilities can be extremely stressful, so I am sensitive in my interactions with patients and know how to manage my frustration when patients are unintentionally difficult to deal with. When I communicate, I am patient and positive (especially in my body language). I have both professional and personal experience working in the health care field. In 2006 I attended STNA classes in Independence, Ohio. I then worked at University hospital in the research development department for 2 years. In 2010 I moved to Deerfield Beach, Florida to take care of my grandfather who had been placed on hospice. After he returned from the hospital I moved in with him and attended to his needs. I Scheduled doctors appointments, cleaned, cooked, grocery shopped, preps meals for the week, created food menu, assisted with ambulation, as well as many other activities of daily living. After a few weeks my grandfather's health returned.

Far as me I have been an STNA for seven years, I have done home health for 2 1/2 years. I have my CPR and I have experience in customer service so I do have very good communication skills as well.
Being a caregiver is what I can never give up. My passion and the satisfaction I receive from helping someone that truly needs it, the joy in my heart when I do work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life make me to become a caregiver. My patience and ability to go above and beyond for my client make me a great caregiver.
