Hello
With over 18 years of experience. I know how to personalize care for every client with diverse needs. I prefer home health care because it is more personable. The client is not just room 206. I get to learn their personalities and gain knowledge, or a new prospect on life. I really am passionate about my career.
I never thought about being a caregiver. But I was asked by a friend if I could spend some time and help out with her Grandmother. I had no experience in this area, but I instantly fell in love with my "client". In the beginning, she was able to do some things for herself, even with the dementia. She enjoyed being on the front porch, even though when we got back in the house, she wouldn't remember it. She loved spraying herself off after a shower. And she loved her ice cream. But as time went on she got weaker and weaker. When she was ill enough to be put in a nursing home for more intense care, I decided that this was something I was good at and enjoyed doing. So I went to school to obtain my CNA license. When my "little lady" was returned home, it was just a matter of keeping her comfortable. But she was still in good spirits. I wasn't there the day she passed, because my Dad passed the day before.
Working in assisted living was an easier pace, and it seems more attention is paid to the clients. I worked in the Dementia unit which presents it's own set of situations. But the clients I worked for were wonderful people. It wasn't hard to have a smile on my face everyday just being around them, even though some days could be pretty intense.
I've always said I would treat any "client", "patient", as family. The way I would take care of my own. And I found that out in Oct of last year, when I was fortunate enough to take care of my own Mother as she struggled with cancer, it was an honor to be with her through her last days.
I've held the hand of a few of my "family" of people, including my own Mother as they have left this world. And just knowing that I was able to give them some peace and some comfort to me is what makes me enjoy this job, even with the sorrow that comes with it.
I'm looking to have a one on one position. I would like to be close to the Antioch/Brentwood, Tenn area, I just moved here and I'm still getting acquainted with the area.
Waiting on background check but should be coming back anytime. I became a cna in 1999 after watching my mother enjoy giving back to others so much. I followed in my mother's footsteps and can say I'm the caregiver I am today from watching her. I enjoy being there for people who needs the help. I love my job and enjoy the time I get to spend with those people I care for. I have learned alot in my 17yrs. Of working as caregiver. I'm experienced with dementia, along with other needs.
I'am a very loving and caring person. I 'have empathy for others.
I like my seniors because I can learned from them. Also I love helping others
I' m proud to have a successful marriage of 16 years. And I'm proud to be in a position that allows me to help others.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I being caring for people who is in need of care since I was 13years old I took care of my Grandparents and my mom and Dad so it's not just giving them the care that they need it's also having patience and listening to them and the care I give comes straight from my hear.
When I was younger, my grand father came to stay with us after having his stroke. At the time I was fifteen years old, and every since then I have been a care giver. I love the feeling of helping others, when I lay down at night. I sleep ready because I have even hope to another person. My achievements are me putting myself through school while working full time and being a full time single parent .I am a hard worker and have a kind heart, I believe in the golden rule of treating others like I want to be treated. I'm a God fearing woman that believes family is everything.
what makes me a great caregiver is that I care about people and I love taking care of people. I became a caregiver because I have a Caring Heart and I like taking care of people who can't take care of themselves. I like being a caregiver because I like to make people feel good about themselves. I'm proud of the thank you I get from the member and also I like it when they tell someone what a good person I am and how well I treated them and the recommendation that I get for my clients.
