I am a certified registered Medical Assistant and phlebotomist. I have experience in home health care, I worked on the orthopedic/neurology floor at Seton Hospital, and I use to manage a pediatric neurology doctors office. I believe in being patient, kind, and empathetic.

I like making someone smile and doing little things to make a person's day better. Caregiving is a huge personal accomplishment, and I am proud of resourcefulness, flexibility and determination.

I always give 100% and do the best job I can, with no exceptions or excuses. I also try to bring a sense of humor to my work. If I can add a smile or laugh to a client’s day, that means a lot to me. It is important to laugh. One of the best qualities as a caregiver is my ability to be empathic. I understand that my client may feel vulnerable, scared, confused and uncomfortable, and being able to identify and allay these fears can create a sense of calm and trust for those being cared for.

I've known I've wanted to work in healthcare since I was 14 years old. The summer of 7th grade my mom who was a caregiver too had one of her clients come spend a few weeks with us after she broke her hip. I was old enough to help then and in doing so I discovered my passion. I'm a certified Medical Assistant with 3 years experience and am currently enrolled in Devry University online working towards my associates degree in Health Information Technology.

I became a caregiver because i enjoy caring for the elderly and given them companionship, as well as enjoying listening to their lifetime stories. I am proud to accomplish my med aide certification and finally being able to get back in school. I am highly energetic person and always having a smile on my face whether im having a bad day or not.

I find it thrilling spending time with people I don't know, and then getting to know everything about their routines. There's something very special about a being trusted and hired to care for a stranger, they expect you to care for them, and tend to them. Do things the can't nesecarily do themselves anymore. I used to care for my grandmother because she had hired people in the past and they would never take care of her the way she needed. People are humans, they should be treated like it no matter their gender age or disability. That's why I enjoy the health care field, because I know the person I am carrying for its in good hands.

I believe am a great caregiver because of my grandmother, and my mother. For their gentle ways of raising me and teaching me how to show love through kindness and generosity. I enjoy meeting new people and helping where I can. I am a fast learner, I adapt well to new things and I can say that I adjusted to them as well. I became a caregiver to my Grandparents when they moved to Arizona, I would assist them with grooming, bathing, toileting, cooking, dressing and cleaning. When my grandfather was diagnoses with Dementia, I spent longer hours in a day to assist them with more, such as, Medication reminders. transporting them to dr. appointments and shopping needs. My grandmother was diagnosed with COPD and was on 100% oxygen at that point and would get winded within a few steps, she was a fall risk and needed assistance to walk, that's when I knew, I wanted to be a Caregiver for others.
