I am a married mother of two, a 7 year old daughter & a 4 year old son. I went to college and received my Associates Degree in Nursing graduating in 2007. I have always been a very outgoing, compassionate natural nurturer. I have taken care of many family members while recovering from surgery, stroke, heart attack, cancer and even those that were terminally ill and cared for them up until their passing. I also worked in a nursing home for several months while attending college, the hours did not work with my schedule at the time, so I found a retail banking job while in school. I am currently not in the medical field and changed my career in 2008, and have been with the same employer since. I enjoy taking care of others and learning from someone else. While I worked in the nursing home, I became close with several of the residents and their families because I genuinely cared for them. I would often go by when it wasn't my shift and even after I had left the nursing home for employment. Although I get to do plenty of caregiving at home with my children, I miss working with the elderly and learning so much about our history and how things used to be. I am looking to do something I love while earning extra income for my family. I am available on Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 7 or during the day on Saturday & Sunday.
I am a nurse aid, about to take my CNA certification test this month. I currently work for Home Instead Senior Care. I provide both personal care and companion care. I have additional training in caring for Alzheimer's and Dementia patients and most of the clients I currently care for have this. I also have additional certifications in Arthritis care, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) care, and shower safety training. I have a bright, bubbly, uplifting personality. I love to care for others. I always treat my patients with the same respect and care that I would my own grandparents. I am willing to work around other's schedules, and can accommodate special and unique needs. I get along well with family members and children, I also love animals. I have my own transportation and am prompt. I always try to go the extra mile to better the lives of others.
I have over 10 years of experience working with the elderly and disabled this is something I enjoy and have a passion for. I'm a non smoker and a great communicator. I enjoy communicating and getting to know my client. I have reliable transportation also and I'm a honest hard working caregiver.
Hello, my name is Angela. I have been working the human service field for over twenty years with experience ranging from infants to the elderly. I love people and making them feel cared for whether it be physically or emotionally. I am genuine and believe that treating people respectfully and kindly should be natural. My grandmother needed care when I was very young. Through her challenges, it taught me how to provide care for people. Some things that we take for granted opened my eyes to the needs of people who could not care for themselves.
I'm a very great caregiver and I enjoy the work that I do. I always wanted to care for elderly because of my grandmother and I knew I would enjoy helping others. I really enjoy being able to experience new thing with different individuals. I'm proud of being able to become a med tech and pass out meds to my clients as well as building a relationship with each an every one of them. Working with more than one individual that has several mental disabilities is a challenge but it gets better every day!
I am a 37 year old wife and mother, we currently live in Franklin County VA. Most of my education and career were spent focusing on children and the special needs population. While earning my degree in Mental Health I completed a 6 month internship in the Adult Protective Services Department and was suprised at how much I enjoyed it. I have always worked with younger clients but quickly realized that a lot of the same skills are necessary when working with the elderly. Since then I have taken care of both of my grandmothers in their final years and found it so rewarding that I have shifted my career to focus on eldercare. I have been with my current client for over 2 years but I am looking to add another part time client to my schedule.
I believe I have great personality traits for the job. I'm very patience and compassionate to others. I'm dependable and trustworthy and alert to things going on. I've always been interested in taking care of someone else's needs and wants and I've always wanted to be there for others. The most I enjoy about being a caregiver is putting others before myself and taking care of others. A personal achievement I'm proud of is ever since I was young I've wanted to become a health care provider and I've always wanted to start at the bottom and work my way up to become a Registered Nurse and so far I've gained my Certified Nursing Assistant license and then I plan to attend college in the near future for my Registered Nursing license.
I become a caregiver because I saw a need in people who were afraid to say they needed help sometimes and I wanted to be there for them so that they did not have to feel that way anymore. I am very empathetic and caring and I want to make every clients life better before I leave at the end of the day. I enjoy providing companionship most of all and learning from my clients. I am proudly a NC EMT and CNA and volunteer at my local fire department In my spare time.
I became a caregiver due to my mother-in-laws decline in health and ability to take care of herself. The rewards for doing so were endless. It was a joy to sitting with her and hearing the old stories of the family and her life. We loved to read together, go shopping, watch movies. My personal best achievement with her was being insistant with the doctors to find the root cause of her incontinence issues. They wanted to give her a pill, but we found she had a prolaps uterus and bladder. After her surgery, she had no more issues. Being persistant paid off for her well-being. Being a Christian woman, it is important to me to ensure that quality of life remains present at all ages.
