I am a patient person, I understand that things may not go as quickly as planned so I put myself on the shoes of my patients. I am a compassionate person, I try my best to understand what my patients are going through. I pay close attention to the need and want of my patients. I am dependable and trustworthy. I was sick when i was younger and i wanted to give in return great care which was given to me. I also helped care for my grand parents and i enjoyed every moment of it. I just enjoy being able to help some achieve something that they are unable to do without help. Just to be able to ease someones stress or put a smile on someones. Face gives me great joy. I took care of a lady whom nobody else wanted to care for and she refused everybody care until she met me . I am a very caring loving patient person who absolutely loves patient care..I absolutely love being able to help people.....Caregivers are blessed to be able to care for the elderly...
I have experience working with elderly who had Alzheimer s and Dementia disease for the past 4 years, plus experience in personal care (bed bath) and light housekeeping, which included 3 hospice situations. I am non-smoker and comfortable with pets . I currently speak English, Portuguese and Spanish. I am very optimistic person, always on time for my job and love to work with elderly. My duties is to do a good job, treat them with respect, love and kindness.
I have been in the health care field for more than 15 yrs. It has been a privilege to care, respect & make a difference in the elderly/disabled lives. I took care of my mother until she passed, took nursing training, worked in nursing homes, hospitals & day support programs. I enjoy working with the elderly population especially when I can help them be safe and prevent hospitalization.
What makes me a great caregiver is my passion for helping the elderly, I became a caregiver because it was my calling. The most important thing that I love about being a caregiver is the great care that I will give them and the smile on their faces / families when I have done my job, my personal achievement that makes me proud is that I have done my job from my heart.
I became a caregiver because I've always enjoyed the satisfaction of being able to help others in need. A personal achievement of mine was being able to raise my two daughters to become outstanding strong women who have continued the legacy of being great caregivers. My oldest daughter is now a nurse at George Washington University Hospital. Growing up, being able to give to those who where less fortunate than me always put joy into my heart.
