Hi! My name is Jeannie and I'm 36yrs old. I've been a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Registered Medication Aide (RMA) for 10yrs. I grew up with my grandparents all my life and as they grew older, health problems slowly arose and I started assisting them more and more and fell into a caregiving role at a young age. My grandmother has COPD, HTN, DM, Anxiety, Neuropathy and Arthritis. My grandfather has dementia, vertigo and stage 3 renal failure. I am Now his caretaker at home, he's on hospice. I've worked in home care and assisted living care. I'm a very compassionate, caring person whose always loved helping others and knew this was my calling. I am now also looking into furthering my education and career and signing up for nursing school.

I became a caregiver because my mother had entered into the medical field as I was growing up and listening to her talk about how she enjoys helping others. I decided that I should give it a try when it was my time to choose a profession. Once I got into the field at nineteen years old, I fell in love with being a caregiver and I have since then within my seven years of experience prided myself on making sure I give the best care to each and every patient I've had the pleasure to care for. What makes me a good caregiver is that I go above and beyond to please the patients I am caring for and I do my absolute best to make them feel comfortable as well as just enjoying being a wonderful companionship. Being a caregiver for me is rewarding to know when I've put a smile on each persons face and family by just coming in with the willingness to meet their expectations. I am proud knowing that I've been able to see each person through while making every day as pleasant as possible while in their need of care.

I enjoy being a caregiver , it is a such good field to work on specially when you are trying to become a nurse in future. I love to comfort people to be there for them when need me.

I have been a very compassionate, meticulous caregiver for over 20 years. I've operated in home health, hospital, and acute care settings. Also, within the 20 year span I have experience in a broad range of medical fields that has enhanced my career. I became a caregiver at the age of 20 caring for my grandfather of terminal cancer. I enjoyed the gratification and the enjoyment of fulfilling one's life with happiness. Being at the bedside to care for my patient is the most pleasurable environment to be in and to see them get the meticulous care they need. Also, to see them being nursed back to better health.

Also the achievement I am proud of is that people I am in the company of enjoy me because I focus my attention directly on them.

I have a passion for working with the elderly and disabled community. I have been blessed with a caring, sensitive and empathic nature and enjoy helping and serving others. I am friendly and compassionate, and a positive, enthusiastic attitude is an important part of my life. I teach meditation and am studying hypnotherapy, and I understand the need for a positive mental attitude in all areas. I enjoy providing others with the care they need to be able to enjoy their own lives to the fullest. I have cared for my daughter who was chronically ill for several years and would like to use that experience to improve the lives of another family or individual. There's nothing like the smile on the face of our elderly ones when they know you really care about them. That's my goal. I really enjoy personal home care since I know my clients are getting all the care and attention they need and deserve. I understand how dementia and Alzheimer's changes a person's personality and attitude and I have all the patience needed to work with these ones. I've always managed to get even the advanced patients to do what's need. A little kindness and distraction goes a long way. I hope I can help someone else smile again
