Ive been a CNA for 20 yrs, received my license in North Carolina in 2001 and in Virginia in 2009. I believe the most important thing that makes me a great CNAs is patience and understanding. The reason why I became a CNA is I find joy in the elderly. They are knowledgeable, they make you laugh,and you can learn alot from them. I get great joy in seeing the smiles on their faces because they're pleased with me.

I have 3 years experience working as a caregiver. My expertise is that I am told that I am a great Cook. I prepare seasoned regular diets as well as low salt, low cholesterol diets. I am currently a CNA at Riverside Doctors Hospital but am looking to get into Home Health Care. I have been a CNA for over 2 years now and love every moment of it. I have been an RN for many years. During that time I have been a personal caregiver, a sitter , a medication administrator, and an instructor. I have been a care giver on and off since my senior year in high school which totals 34 years. I love being a caregiver and the rewarding benefit of seeing the individuals improve. I am very compassionate and treat everyone like my family. I became a caregiver because of the rewarding feel I get from it. I remember working in a nursing facility and the other attendants couldn't get a gentlemen to eat on his own and before I left i had him eating on his own which made me so happy because he was literally on the verge of getting a feeding tube.
