I enjoy helping and taking care of people who need it. I love listening to the wisdom of my elders! I also just love bringing happiness and some sunshine into someone's life! I have been a Medical Assistant for 28 years, for 18 of those years I worked in 2 different Urology offices, 5 working in an ENT and Allergy office. I am currently working in a Family Practice office. I have enjoyed working in each office and established a great rapport with the majority of the patients I have encountered, as well as there respect and gratitude. I also worked in Home Health for a brief period. One of my clients hired me to continue taking care of her mother, which was extremely gratifying to know she was so pleased with the care I provided and trusted me to continue taking care of her mother.

I started off being a care giver when my mother got sick. I was shown by Nurses how to care for someone that was in the last stages of their life. Later I was informed of a opening in the area of caring for those with Intellectual Disabilities in a work setting. After getting the job I remained employed with the company for 26 years. My job took me on many different rolls from Direct Personal Care Staff to being a Team Manager. I have the desire and confidence to serve others. I am a Team Player and have the ability to make decisions on my own following set guide lines to enhance the lives of others. I have had great repors with those that present Challenging Behaviors.

What makes me a great caregiver I'm a very compassionate person and I put myself or my parents in their place. How would I want someone to care for my family. Why did I become a caregiver I became a caregiver because at the age of 16yrs old I cared for my ill grandmother before her passing she went blind and from there I always said that I wanted to help those that can't help themselves. What is a personal achievement that I'm proud of. I'm proud of being that someone that never gave up I put myself through college as a single parent of three earning my associates degree as a certified registered medical assistant graduating cum laude and I also did private duty nursing for over fifteen years.

My original start as a caregiver was due to an unfortunate heart attack and stroke of my stepfather whom became paraplegic as a result and I assisted my mother in caring for for 13 years until he passed away last year. And have been working in the care giving field for 10 years outside of that and its something I enjoy because I have a good and caring heart. I will be attending school in April 2015 to further my education in nursing and have attended and graduated from a CNA course and Medical Assisting along the way. I'm a hard worker and enjoy working along the family of a client to help ensure the best plan of care for their loved ones. I have had the pleasure of working with special needs children and adults
