Hi my name is Erin. Let me start by telling you why I got into this line of work to begin with. My dad is 60 yrs old now but in 2013 he was diagnosed with leukemia. He went through several rounds of chemo and then his bone marrow transplant. After a bone marrow transplant they give you medicine to keep you from rejecting the transplant. He was so sick and not getting any better. He began having siezures which lead the doctors to do more tests to find out why and when they did they found that he was allergic to the medicine and it had caused him to have several strokes. From there he went on to an acute care facility and to rehab but he was never the same. It left him paralyzed. While he was in and out if these facilities we saw so many things that were just wrong. Patients calling for nurses and the nurses never went to help. After that we took him home and mother and I learned to care for my father ourselves. After all that I decided I was going to go into home healthcare to care for people so that they didn't have to go to a nursing home because people deserve to be loved and cared for just like my father. This personal experience is what makes me a great caregiver.

I became a caregiver so that I could be able to take care of my mother, I like the one on one care that way I can take better care of the clients. My sisters and I took care of my mother for 14 years. I know she 's was getting the best care at home instead of being in a nursing home. I thank God she lived to be 92 years old. I have learn so much by taking care of her. I have been a Certified Nurse Assistant for 16 year. And I love taking care of peoples, that 's my calling.

Hello, I'm Raphaela I've been in and out of the caregiving field roughly around 4/5 years. Growing up I've had several family members that have worked in assistance homes or nursing homes. Since a child I've always volunteered to help out at nursing homes. Wether it was bedside assistance or helping with activities and making sure they went to bed with a smile on their face. I'm currently in my senior year of college, majoring in biology. I have future plans of becoming a CNA and even more to be sure that I'll be able to continue to care and assist with the elderly. The thing I enjoy most about being a caregiver is being able to learn, connect and love on my clients. I still have connections with previous clients from years ago! Being that I'm such a loving and caring CG/PCA, I tend to connect with my patients as if I'm one of their own. I also have experience in the pharmacy, I was a pharmacy technician with Walgreens back in 2021-2022.
