I decided to go into Nursing because of my desire to love and care for people and help them achieve goals and continue their activities of daily living as long as possible. It gives me a feeling of satisfaction to know I've helped or had a hand in someone's comfort. I've worked in Nursing Homes in all different levels of care, The VA, and home health. I've trained in many areas such as Medication Tech, Supervisor In Charge, CPR and First Aid. I've currently worked a an in home supervisor with the jobs of: hiring employees, scheduling, Drs. Apps, RX orders and refills, filling daily med packs, ADL's and actual home health care... I've been in home health/nursing for over 30 yrs and it is my passion. I've been married 30yrs, have 3 grown sons, 2 granddaughters , and 2 grandsons. I love people and interacting with them. I like reading, walking, exercising and spending quality time with my family.... Caregiving is something that has always come naturally to me. I started at the age of 11, visiting with residents in nursing homes , and now I work with individuals that prefer to stay in their own homes in the end of life.
I have experience with alzhimers/dementia, diabetes, oxygen tanks, medication administration and cathaters. Grooming is my specialty and cleanliness is key. I treat my patients with kindness and respect just like with my own family. Keeping my patients happy, healthy, and comfortable is important to me.
I am highly recommend by adult services for the elderly as well as hospice. I have wonderful references that can be provided by family, friends, and neighbors of my previous patients. With over 12 years of private duty caregiving under my belt, I have gained the knowledge needed to give eceptional care to your loved ones.
