I've been doing this type of career for 28 years and love what I do I also would love to go get my LPN to further my career this fall 2023 then I'll be able to do more an help out more with my clients, then I can now, I wouldn't change my career for anything it what I've wanted to do my whole life and it runs in my family, and I intend to do for rest of my working life, it not a job to me it a career and it like taking care of my own family and love ones, my clients mean everything to me, I'm there for my clients to help them feel safe and comfortable with there ADL and being home, I am proud to have been in my career for over 28 years, an Im proud to add many more years to it, and have my LPN this year 2023, I also have both of my covid-19 shots so I am good to go with the covid-19, I also work with all types of care,

My biggest passion is caring and helping people in need. It is a very fulfilling and important part of my life. When I'm not working, I spend my leisure time kayaking, walking/hiking, reading, being creative and taking care of myself and my home. I'm blessed with strength and good health, patience and understanding, and I believe this is why former caretaking clients always asked for me. I look forward to meeting you!

* What are your personality traits or expertise that help you be a great caregiver. I enjoy interacting and investing time in the clients hobbies and interests. I have given all levels of care, from elderly (including but not limited to Dementia) to disabled, and TBI individuals. I have been a medication technician in several previous postions, as well. * What attracted to you being a caregiver? The diversity of the clientele and the needs they have. I find that I easily connect with the people I work with because I listen and can adapt to each individual and their needs. * What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? Spending quality time and making my clients feel as independent as possible. Such as achieving goals, running an errand, making a meal together or even something small. If it makes them smile and helps them that means the world to me because I assisted in making that happen. * What is a personal achievement you are proud of? My children. My greatest achievement is how well they've grown. Helping them become the people they are. Seeing them progress and having them tell me about how they've used what I have taught them to succeed. I like to inform my clients and their families ahead of time: I have colored hair (currently pink and purple), a nose piercing and modest visible tattoos. I'm happy to wear long sleeves and/or a mask if it makes anyone uncomfortable. My pay is definitely flexible. The app would not allow me to leave it blank. I worked as a caregiver for Home Instead Senior Care and private caregiving for two years. I have extensive training on all senior care aspects, to include medication management and care procedures. I have cared for clients with different forms of dementia, Parkinson's, physical disabilities, and medical issues. I am familiar with personal care, end of life care, and companionship. I grew up in a military family and we lived overseas as well as the USA. I saw Carelinx was looking for people to be caregivers to our veterans and that caught my attention. I love all aspects of what I do. I love working in the home, and have a flying-under-the-radar personality. I like to be in the background when necessary, and otherwise be fully engaged. I was a babysitter when i was a teenager after taking the American Red Cross babysitter course. I enjoy being of service. I love cooking for people, and making their favorite meals. I can cook vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free etc. I began working in the home as a nanny. I have nanny training and a bachelors degree. Eventually I began working as a private cook for dual-career families. When that was slow I worked as an elder caregiver on private duty teams and gained a wide variety of experience. As I have always had dogs, I also work as a dog walker/petsitter and will do overnight and vacation care. I have trainings in Medication Administration and Alzheimers.

I've been a caregiver since I was 18 years old. I took care of people with special needs. I started nursing school when I was 20 years old. I graduated when I was 24 years old. I was a nurse for 15 years and then my grandmother got sick and I became her caregiver. I believe a caregiver is there to do anything for the person that they care for. Anything to put a smile on their face. I've taken care of babies with trachs. I've taken care of seniors with dementia. And I've also learned that you take care of the person and the family.
