What makes me a great caregiver is my heart. I have always cared about the well being of others, it makes me happy knowing that I am able to help people. What I like about caregiving is meeting new people, and being able to do all I can to comfort and help. A personal achievement I am really proud of is working with someone with CP. This person was in a wheel chair for a long number of years, this person gave up long ago. I came in and got to help this person and care for them helped with motaviating this person to start exercising and then we started taking small steps, thru out my years of caregiving with this person. I was able to help get this person out of the chair and to start walking again. It made me feel so good to see smiles from my client and the family because of how I dedicated myself to her, I was able to give hope and was able to see my client do somethings on their own. It is definitely a highlight to caregiving.

I am a very passionate about caring for others. I am an empathetic, caring person by nature. I am trustworthy and dependable. I have a vast amount of experience due to the fact I am a former nurse. I love getting to know people and am very good at helping patients formulate a routine that is both realistic and ideal for their circumstances. What attracted me to being a caregiver, when my grandma passed away, I knew that my grandfather was lonely and needed some assistance in his care. I started reading his mail to him, taking him around to his appointments, shopping, cleaning his home and just keeping him company and I knew from there that I wanted to help anyone in need. A neighbor had Cerebral Palsy and she was getting worse. She needed help with transportation to her appointments and shopping, cleaning her apartment.
