With a Psychology degree, I am able to communicate effectively with both the client as well as the client's family members. I offer compassion and understanding to each individual's family. I have a strong personality and am able to encourage my clients to allow me to help them with the services that are best for them even when they are reluctant. I am able to help them maintain their dignity and independence while assisting them with their every day tasks. I became a caregiver in 2016 when my company lost it's grants. I evaluated what other avenues were available to me to share my years of counseling experiences. I decided that as a home health care aid, I could help both the client themselves and their families. What drove me to be a passionate caregiver, was the influence of my mother and how she effected many families lives. Also, I have many family members/close family friends who have struggled with disabilities, such as Alzheimer's, dementia, healing from surgeries, MR, paralyzed, in wheel chairs, anxiety, cancer, and depression. I started taking care of her from 2012 until 2014 when she lost the battle and passed. Then my grandmother ended up taking a turn for the worse, and I took care of her from 2014 until 2016 when she passed away. I'm a very loving, and caring person. I qm currently an LPN. Before that I was a private caregiver. The reason I became a caregiver was growing up I was also raised with the help of my grandparents. Both of them had health issues and I always helped take care of them. It made me realize that helping people was something I wanted to do. My personal achievement was working as a caregiver is what put me through LPN school.

I feel that I am a great caregiver because unfortunately I am unable to have children so my maternal instincts carry over to the person I am caring for. I love helping people and being able to help someone stay home for as long as possible is very important.
