I enjoy the ability to help others, to gain knowledge form the elderly. I became a caregiver a few years after my grandmother was put in a nursing home. I saw the love and compassion she received and this inspired me to want to help the elderly and disabled. I got my CNA when I was 18 and my EMT when I was 20. I am proud to say I have helped an number of sweet people and they in turn have taught me so much. I'm a single mother of three wonderful children my youngest was born on life support and was epileptic which led me to become a caregiver. From the age of 13 I had cared for a close family member which was epileptic and was on disability I had moved in with her in high school to be her caregiver at that point in time I knew that I cared for others more than most as my friends were out going to the movies and going skating I chose to spend my time at home caring for another human being. As long as I can remember I have always taken care of someone and started out in the mental health dealing with individuals with special needs and being able to care for someone else that is unable to care for themselves touches my heart I'm truly lead to be in this field.

I became a caregiver 13 years ago because my grandfather got sick. He had cancer it was the hardest thing I had ever done but i'm so very thankful that i was there with him till he passed and I have been taking care of other people ever since. I also worked as a Medtech, cook and a housekeeper in an assisted living facility right at 4 years. After that I started the in home health. I try to do everything I can for the person i'm caring for, I enjoy meeting new people and listing to their story's and helping them.
