Helping others was always a big part of my life at a very early age. Being able to help seniors was a gift inside of me. I just wanted to help them so their life could be easier. Working as a caregiver, I enjoyed hearing all their stories and the wisdom they have. Helping them accomplish their goals was rewarding. Being able to connect with people & help others is what life is all about.
I have worked with seniors twenty-five years. I have had my CNA certificate since 1994. Most of my experience have been working as a nurse tech. in the homes of my patients. The job duties are: Meal prep.& feeding, Personal care, Exercise program with patient, Toilet assistance, Med assistance, Dr. visits, Transfer & walking assistance, Daily vitals, Light housekeeping,
Worked with patients with dementia, stroke, diabetes, wound care, blood pressure, cancer recovery, broken bones.
I have enjoyed working with children with special needs. A little boy with down syndrome had a feeding tube, severe heart condition, seizers. I was there over three years in McKinney Texas.
I am a patient, loving, caring, honest, dependable, and compassionate person who has dedicated my life to the care of my own parents and all the loved one's in our family. The number one attraction to the Home Healthcare field was the knowledge that I could make a positive impact on another person's life. Another huge factor that brought me into this career field was seeing and experiencing first hand the enormous need for compassionate, dependable, and experienced home health aids and caregivers as I advocated and cared for my Dad through Heart Disease, Parkinson's, and Pancreatic Cancer as well as caring for my Mother through her health struggles and challeges with Arthritis, Osteporosis, Orthopedic Surgeries, Diabetes, Gastrointestinal Disease, Kidney Disease, and Dementia. Knowing I could make a profound difference in the quality of another person's daily life and ease the demands on their family is what motivated me the most to enter the home healthcare field as a professional Home Health Aide. My favorite part of being a HHA is the smiles, hugs, laughter, and companionship shared with my clients and their family as we work together as a team to achieve the client's health and independence goals so they can go about their daily routines in the comfort of their own home. My proudest achievement is that I took the initiative and did all the work necessary to build the knowledge base, skill level, and acquire the hands-on experience needed to build an excellent rapport and reputation for providing excellent care based on respect, dignity, trust, compassion, flexibility, dependablity, and dedication to my clients and their families that I have worked for in the Home Healthcare Aide field.
