Hello, My name is Octavia Mcleod I'm 34 yrs of age and I'm blessed to have three beautiful children. One of kids which is 12, he really is my nephew but I raised him as my son since birth. He is the reason I'm currently in the care giving field. He has hit my a motor vehicle and required years of nursing, therapy, 24 hour around the clock care due to severe traumatic brain injuries he was left with. He was only 4 at the time so this has not only became a job to me it became a passion to me to care for not only him but others as well. I had in house RNs in my house for 5 years until I requested to care for him myself. Being a caregiver provides families with extra support for their live ones especially when families have jobs and families of their own and don't have the extra time to care for a love one that really needs that extra care and love. Being a caregiver allows me to give, love, support, help, and comfort and for that I feel accomplished every day when I come home to my family, knowing I have do those things for someone whom may not have that.

I am a CNA working on getting a degree in respiratory therapy. I have experience in LTC and the hospital as well. I can't wait to take care of your loved ones!

Hey, I'm Breanna. I'm 20 years old. I've been a Personal Care Assistant for almost 2 years. I'm very dependable, reliable, patient, trustworthy and supportive. I enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where I have one on one interaction with others. Honestly, I've always had a giving personality and I like helping people. I often consider the possibility of taking care of a loved one because I love helping people. I take on the responsibility and stay with it because I realize I am making a difference in a loved one's life.

I've been a caregiver for about seven years dealing with many different cultures. What I love so much about being a caregiver is helping people that can't or no longer help themselves. While being a caregiver I've learned that every clue has different needs which I'm comfortable with. Also I've private sat with an ALS patient caring for her day and night that required lots so it's basically nothing I can't do.

Why am I a caregiver? Because I love people and I want to help people to meet their daily physical needs when they are not able to do so on their own. What I like about being a Caregiver is being able to give them the feeling that they are still people, they are still somebody and I want them to know that I care, I also want them to be able to talk to me about anything. My personal achievement that I am proud of is when my brother was ill and I had to become his caregiver. I would not change that moment for nothing in the world. I still had a full time job but I still came home after long hours of work to take care of him and relief my sister after she has been there with him all day. As I was his caregiver I watch him go from worst to better, not only by caring for him but by loving and making sure he get what he needed so as bath, meals, medicine, making calls to the hospice service when there was a certain need that I was not able to meet. I felt so happy but sad at the same time, just knowing that i made a difference in his life- sad to see him go through. But with the grace and mercy of God I made it through.
