Hello. I am a CNA and have been in the medical profession for 10 years. I love helping people and putting a smile on their face.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I am able to relate to the needs of my clients base on individuality. I am very compassionate towards my clients. I try my very best to understand their needs and find a solution to it. I became a caregiver not only to help people who are at a disadvantage but rather because I care about people and enjoy being a part of their lives. For many years I've lived away from my father, but the moment I received a phone call that he had a stroke I dropped everything and went to care for him until he recovered. That alone shows how caring and concern I am about people who are unable to care for themselves. What I like about being a caregiver is the fact that I am able to bring a smile on the faces of my clients no matter what moods they are in for that particular day. I go to an extended mile to make sure that their needs are met and that they are taken good care of and happy. One personal achievement I am proud of is being able to graduate college. Both my parents are illiterate and for me to be the first out of four siblings to go to college and graduate was a very good accomplishment for me. And with what I have learned and experience I will continue to strive in what I love the most; that is helping people.

I administer vital signs and first aid. run errands,will travel with client if the need arises. medication reminders,doctors appointment,bathing,feeding, Social activities, I assist with light housekeeping, healthy leaving,grooming and am a great companion. I have a lot of patience even when under a lot of pressure. I am very driven, mature and have great energy to handle my task.I make sure I complete my line of duty on a timely bases. I really enjoy helping the patient comfortable in their own space. My grandfather and the way he was treated in a nursing home. He just wanted to be at his home. Helping my patient feel comfortable and relaxed. Letting him or her tell stories about the past,love,kids, what it was like in the old days. Being there for them when they need me most. Making them feel useful and they do matter

I have worked in various setting such as, Adult Trauma & Pediatric Unit in ER , Brain and Spinal Injury, Alzheimer/Dementia, MICU, SICU, PACU, Telemetry,Labor & Delivery, Ante and Post Partum, NICU, Geriatrics, Med/Surg, ICU, Nursing Homes and In Home Care. What I enjoy most is being able to fulfill a patients needs to the best of my ability. Most families I've cared for says I go beyond my duties. My biggest achievement is being able to still have the compassion and drive it takes to do this type of job.

I have always been passionate about making the lives of those I care for owing to my experience in clinical practice as a an LVN/LPN licensed Nurse and a volunteering work in healthcare in which I have managed the aged and elderly and built a wonderful relationship with them which has helped the outcome of daily living, much improved. Owing to this experience, its been my passion to continue on such opportunities to provide quality care for my clients to make their lives much better.

I, Shonita Badillo became a caregiver because I love working with the elderly and, sick. Caregiving has always been my passion because, when I was a teenager I cared for my grandmother. I enjoy being a caregiver because, it gives me joy to see a smile on my clients face, and, also I feel I can bring a lot to their life such as understanding patience and, compassion. I feel I have achieved experience over the last 15 years. As I continue to work as a caregiver I feel more confident that I know my job and, that I can relate to my clients better. I have 15 years of experience as a certified nursing assistant. I have worked in a hospitals nursing homes and, private homes. My future plans is to futher my nursing experience.
