I became a caregiver when I was 12 years old. My best friend was diagnosed with MS and MD at a very young age and she happened to be 64 years old at that time. We bonded immediately and talked daily. One day we were attending our weekly meeting at our place of worship and her usual caregiver could not be found. She needed help going to the restroom, I volunteered to help and I did everyday until her death at the age of 69 on January 31, 2013. I am blessed to have had the greatest connection and friendship that guides me in everything I do. She was a supernatural, phenomenal woman . She taught me how to smile, be kind and to love unconditionally. She is the reason my kindness never fails or crumbles. I am proud that over the years I have made many more friends and have learned such valuable lessons by just listening and observing my elders.

Hi, my name is Samantha Green I'm 23 years old. i have 2 kiddos. I graduated from gadsden city high school in 2017. I have been working in caregiving for 10 years. A family member of mine got hurt in the military when I was 13 and I started learning and working with him and my aunt daily to make a lil money. I have became so passionate about my love and care I have for all my patients, I want them to be treated as if it was my family member in the situation. I am very honest, dependable, hard working, loving and caring. I love everything I do in my job and I enjoy it. I want to continue furthering my career in the healthcare field.

I have 23 years experience working in nursing, I am very empathetic an patient. Always willing to go above an beyond to satisfy the client and keep them safe. I have worked with a variety of clients of all ages an various conditions. I enjoy being able to build a rapport with my clients an know that I have helped them in the later years of their life. It is a joy to just have conversation with them you learn a lot. I'm proud of myself for going to college an earning my degree in Human Services, it has taught me a lot about different diversity of people an how to communicate with them.

I love taking care of the elderly because I have alot of empathy, and compassion for others. I also had a son that was diagnosed with cancer at the age and I took care of him for 3 years then he passed. So I feel like I have alot of love, patience, and kindness to give.

Through volunteering I have obtained several positions such as summer camp counselor, after-school teacher, cake decorator, and child care provider (day-care worker). I am now volunteering my time in daycares, the family success office, and in the public-school system. I have received several different certifications ranging from Better Brains for Babies, Financial Literacy, to Handling Medical Emergencies and Gerontology. I am currently attending Gadsden State Community College for my Associates in Human Services after graduating with my Associate in Applied Science degree in Salon and Spa Management.
