I take pride in providing quality services to those that would otherwise not be able to care for themselves alone. The smile on their faces makes me feel I have accomplished my job. I have always enjoyed helping others and the elderly have a special place in my heart as I was raised to respect others and shared precious moments with my grandparents that I cherish still today. What I find in serving others is that I get an opportunity to learn as well.
I am a good listener, client centered with compassion. Empathy is embedded in my personality. Being an experienced caregiver I am familiar with the job and very much enjoy each day at work.

I am very versatile and have in-depth knowledge and training into many different areas of the healthcare field. I have worked with many different clients in the home setting with many different illnesses and diseases such as Alzheimer's, mild - severe, Dementia, mild - severe, Parkinson's, mild- severe, diabetes's, MS, ALS, many different Cancers , Hospice , Palliative care and much more.
I use critical independent thinking when caring for my patients which is very important in the home care setting . I pay close attention to their medications making sure they are working properly. With my knowledge and medical background I am able to communicate effectively and professionally with all individuals on a clients care team which in turn makes it easier for the physicians or other health care professionals to treat the client. This in turns brings great relief for my patients and their loved ones.
1.I became a caregiver, because at the time I had a close relative who needed care and I took the responsibility to care for them after school and it became second nature to me. I then realized that i enjoyed helping those in need and whose who could not help themselves, it make me feel important and it is a good feeling to know that someone trusts you to make them feel better and make life easy for them.
2. As mentioned before, I enjoy feeling important in someones life that they trust me to make their life easier and I enjoy knowing that I am trusted to take on such a huge responsibility.
3. I am most proud of the fact I came to this country at 17 all the way from South Africa and made a life for myself, I have built strong relationships with people, and I have learnt from others and most importantly learnt to become a responsible and respectable member of society. I taught myself to become a care giver without any form of training and over the years as my experience grew, I decided I wanted to really care others and now I am pursuing a career in Nursing.
4. I recently turned 29 and decided that I want to be a RN! I'm back in school now, with crazy class times, so I'm looking for an opportunity to continue my healthcare experience while going to school.
My biggest personality trait would be that I am a very happy person, my bubbly attitude attracts the attention of my clients and I take that job very seriously because I believe it can be infectious and an important part of their health. I am willing to take the extra mile to assure my clients safety and happiness.
What attractede to become a caregiver is the one on one connection with peolple, versus having 7 to take care of at one time with little to no time to ensure they're taken care of emotionally. Having the time to focus on one and work with one comes with many disadvantages.
What I enjoy the most about my job is being able to provide the care that my clients really need, to hear those "thank you's" from my clients and family, for making a difference in my clients life.
A personal achievement of mine is the relationship I take time to build with my clients. Specifically dementia and Alzheimer's clients, I believe to have the patience and heart needed to care for these clients.
Very positive and high energy, i love being a caregiver because being able to help with elderly let's me know that there is someone who cares for them besides family that is willing to be there for them. A personal achievement would have to be communication because it is very hard to communicate with clients who have trust issues due to previous workers.

1. I became a caregiver because I have great passion for working with the elderly, and those who are no longer able to provide for themselves the best possible care. I enjoy being able to assist individuals who in many cases, are no longer able to care for themselves. 2. These individuals are often very appreciative to know that they are still valued by society. 3. I acquire personal satisfaction in knowing that I have provided the best possible care with the client's best interest at heart. 4. To know that I am giving them the best possible care to the best of my ability, is a personal achievement for me. 5. I am a hard worker, and focused on giving the best possible care to my patients. I am a sociable being that enjoys interacting, and getting to know new people. 6. I believe in going that extra mile to ensure my client's safety, and comfort.
I became a caregiver to help people and have a meaningful job. I enjoy being a caregiver and helping people live comfortably and happy. My boys are grown now, and proudly serving their country. I returned to school and received my CNA certificate again. Learning is something I feel you're never too old to do.
