Mainly focusing on Geriatrics, Mobility Issues, Alzheimer's, Sundowner Syndrome, Dementia, Senility, Cardiomyopathy, CHF, Atrial Fibrillation, Tachycardia, Cardiac Implants, Heart Attack Recovery, Renal Failure, Dialysis, Stroke, High and Low Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Cancer, Respiratory Diseases, Fall Risks, Respite Care, Palliative Care and End of Life Care. As well as over 30 additional Advanced Continuing Education Certifications. I am always trying to learn more and stay current on any new course information pertaining to my career. I believe , and am told, that I am a good care giver. I love kids , and I treated my kids and the kids in my care all the same. We had so much fun learning together. I became an adult caregiver when my parents health started failing. I spent time bathing, clothing, feeding and help with ambulatory needs Basically with total care for my dad. My training in the medical field as a Respiratory therapy tech. Has been a great asset with care giving. I have the basic knowledge of what care giving is. You must be compassionate and patient. You have to have a sense of humor as well. When my dad was still alive, he and my mom had a stormy relationship. When she had to become his care giver, it was hard for her. I used the experience I gained with working with patients in the past, to help her see my father as a patient, and taught her how to care for him in a patient and kind way . As a result, their last few years together had been the sweetest time for the whole family to enjoy. Now Mom and I had the the best relationship til she recently passed away May 2017 . Best of all, she lived right next door. I am proud of how I was able to mend their relationship before he left us Nov. 2015. I would also like to stay within a 15 to 20 mile radius of where I live , and help with my special needs grandson as well as spending time of with my husband who still works full time.
