I am actually a CNA. I became one because of my grandmother. Seeing her in the sick stage made me want to care for every elderly I could. As a child to see someone who means a lot to you, just go down it made me say when I grow up I want to be in the medical field . And I became a certified nurse assistant. I like the fact that they depend on me for care. I also enjoy caring for them, the look in there eyes when they see me makes me feel like I'm important to someone. My love for older people is undeniable ,strong ,and unfailing . I don't see me doing nothing else but sharing my big heart for a person who needs it. My personal achievement is making them smile when they see me coming to care for them. Letting them talk about old times , listening to their life before they needed a person to come in and care for them. And just knowing that they are glad to have a great caregiver In their life, that's what my achievement is. I'm 40 years old. I've been a CNA for 14 yrs I live in Lodi. I have one son he's 20 soon to be 21. I work for Mule Creek State Prison. I am very active I go running 5 days a week. I enjoy go to the movies, walks, and watching lifetime movie network. I like to visit my dad weekly we have Sunday dinners at his house, which I love I'm very easy going and I live life to the fullest.
I am naturally caring and compassionate person; So doing just so will give me sense of accomplishment that I am doing something good. A personal achievement for me was when one of the toughest person I am taking care of stated that I just made him feel important and apologizes for being mean and asked me to take care of him from that day on. And when I simply cover them with blanket while sleeping and says to you " Your such a sweet person and Thank you for taking care of me every night ". And that feeling of rewardness when simply you put a smile and genuine laugh when they see you. That is an accomplishments for me, at the end of the day, I go to sleep smilling, thinking I just made someone's day. I am hardworking, caring, compassionate, patient, understanding, dependable, reliable and flexible. I am a compassionate, dependable, trustworthy caregiver. I take pride in providing the best possible care. I started at 12 years old helping care for my grandmother who had a stroke and was left paralyzed. In 2009 i got my cna certification and began working in long term care facilities, But in 2014 i let it expire as i wanted to take my dad home to care for him when he was diagnosed with cancer. Cared for him until he passed away. Tried working in a different field but my heart leads me back to caregiving. Doing all that i possibly can to help others is what makes me happy. I have experience with adl's, vital signs, toileting, bathing, feeding, ostomy care, range of motion, meal prep, lifting with or without a gait belt, hoyer lifts, household chores. I am a non smoker and comfortable around all pets.
I have always loved helping people that need it. I love being with people and enjoy pretty much everyone. I visit our elderly widows in our church and it just melts my heart to be with them. I started off as a CNA which lead me to care for my mother in law at home with cancer, until she entered into heaven. I assisted with her husband who was paralyzed on his left side. He was awesome and fun! I later worked at the high school until my mother had a stroke. I took care of her for the last six months taking her to dialysis. I've done catheters. I'm friendly, patient, and always willing to encourage the person's to help themselves if they can of course. This is my gift and I'm blessed to be able to do it.
