Hello! My name is Ricky and I am a high energy, compassionate guy with the desire to help others. Throughout my life I have always found joy in caring for those in need of assistance or whom are simply going through a tough time. My mother was badly burned in her youth and i have always been there to help her when needed. My sister was in a near death car accident a couple years back and again I was always right there during her recovery. I will always strive to use my integrity to make the best choices in all situations.
I started as a caregiver ten years ago while looking for care for my father who was a retired Viet Nam Veteran. The agency who came to interview my father to see what his needs were, liked me so much they asked me to work for them. They are contracted through the V A and had lots of veterans who they said would benifit from my care so I stopped workung as a Dental receptionist and joined their team. My father passed away at home 3 years later in hospice during his illness I quit my job to be his caregiver and felt a strong desire to keep his legacy going by continuing to help those that can't help themselves. Just a year ago my husband had a brain aneurysm that caused a stroke where 6 months later he passed away at home in hospice where again I was his caregiver and needed to be there for him til the end. My heart goes out to familues who struggle with the pain of taking care of a loved one who is sick and even more so of a loved one who is in the end stages of life. Not only do I know how they feel but I understand their grief . I want to be the one who can comfort not only the patient but the family as well.

I'm friendly, kind, gentle, compassionate, dependable and have a good sense of humor. I will always provide quality for your loved one so you can have a piece of mind. I became a Nursing Assistant because I believe that there are a lot of people out there that take this job (caregiving of any sort) for granted. In this type of position I take pride in caring for my patients. I think of it as if it were myself needing the help, how would I want to be cared for..? And that is what drives me to always do better and stick up for my patients. I love being able to make a positive difference in someones life, even if it is as simple as helping them from wheelchair to bed and giving them a sense of independence in the transfer. I have primarily worked with Alzheimers/Dementia patients and brain trauma/spinal cord patients in my practice and this has given me a very wide range of tips and tricks that I can apply to any form of care. I can promise that I will always give you my absolute best work if we become partners on this journey!
I've been caring for Seniors my whole life. My Grandfather suffered from Alzheimers and his sister before him, my Uncle suffered from Parkinson's, and I have a nephew with cerebral palsy. All of these factors that were placed in my life gave me a drive to not only help those in my family, but those whose families need more help. I started at age 16 with my neighbors mother who I cared for 5 days a week/4 hour days, then onto getting my CNA and becoming a full time care assistance. Now after just graduating LVN School I'm waiting to take my nursing boards. While I'm awaiting taking my test I don't want to sit by idoly. Caring for others is my passion and I want to continue to help in any way I can.

Hi! I was turning 18 and I was told I needed to work that my schooling was over....Immediately I started searching for a job that gave me flexibility and helped others....so I was a first female Chicago Firefighter....I then moved back to Calif. and put myself through school to become a nurse....I did 10 years in the emergency room, then home health, hospice, pediatrics special needs, elderly. I like to think fast on my feet and I became pretty good at nursing....I gain respect from the doctors that I have worked with for my ability to describe the need a patient has even if it's immediate......I am a cheerful, responsible, giving individual that would help thoses who ask..
