I'm a very professional and compassionate Caregiver/CCMA with strong work ethics. I care for my clients the way I would want my loved ones cared for . I am very versatile and have in-depth knowledge and training into many different areas of the healthcare field. I have worked with many different clients in the home setting with many different illnesses and diseases such as Alzheimer's, mild - severe, Dementia, mild - severe, Parkinson's, mild- severe, diabetes's, MS, ALS, many different Cancers , Hospice , Palliative care and much more. I use critical independent thinking when caring for my patients which is very important in the home care setting . I know I am the eyes and ears for the health care team and family members so I pay close attention to my patients looking for any changes. I pay close attention to their medications making sure they are working properly. With my knowledge and medical background I am able to communicate effectively and professionally with all individuals on a clients care team which in turn makes it easier for the physicians or other health care professionals to treat the client. This in turns brings great relief for my patients and their loved ones.
Although I don't have a C.N.A. license at this time, I have had over 15 + years experience as a C.N.A. I have worked in various hospital settings and just recently started caring for people in their homes. I enjoy working with people in their homes because it is a more relaxed setting. My experience entails transferring, bathing, cooking, cleaning, medication reminders assistance with dressing ADl's to prostheses and blood pressure. I am a good listener, and I enjoy helping people. I was attracted to care giving when I no longer could work in the hospital but care giving gave me another way to still do what I enjoy doing . What I enjoy the most about care giving is that It's easy and it gives me the flexible hours that I need.
1.I became a caregiver, because at the time I had a close relative who needed care and I took the responsibility to care for them after school and it became second nature to me. I then realized that i enjoyed helping those in need and whose who could not help themselves, it make me feel important and it is a good feeling to know that someone trusts you to make them feel better and make life easy for them. 2. As mentioned before, I enjoy feeling important in someones life that they trust me to make their life easier and I enjoy knowing that I am trusted to take on such a huge responsibility. 3. I am most proud of the fact I came to this country at 17 all the way from South Africa and made a life for myself, I have built strong relationships with people, and I have learnt from others and most importantly learnt to become a responsible and respectable member of society. I taught myself to become a care giver without any form of training and over the years as my experience grew, I decided I wanted to really care others and now I am pursuing a career in Nursing. 4. I speak 6 Southern African Languages and currently learning American Sign Language to make that 7 in total, I am currently a Nursing student at West Coast University and I am looking to be a Caregiver as well because it is something I truly enjoy doing. I have 7 years experience working with the elderly in their homes also in several elderly care facilities and I personally enjoy working one on one, because I fully fo

I'm a great caregiver cause I love what I do and I care about people. And I became a caregiver when my mom and dad became sick and Ive also been a Certified Nursing Assistant for 8 years and I love working with patients just to see the look on their face when your helping them is so rewarding. I've worked as a CNA at Loma Linda Hospital for 2 years. And my personal achievement I'm most proud of is when I started my own home care Business.
I earned my CNA at age 16 and got my start working in convalescent hospitals. This offered me the experience to work with people from diverse backgrounds,. I have worked with clients with Alzheimer's and most of the ailments and diseases that affect our elderly today. In my 20+ years of working with elderly clients and their families I have gained empathy, and understanding. Losing your independence is hard. Having a stranger in your home is harder still. Not to mention confusing. I treat all my clients and their families with compassion and respect. Above all else I allow them the dignity they deserve. I stayed home to raise my son after he was born and have been back at work for about a year. I have taken many refresher courses to make sure I am current on all of the policies and procedures that changed while I was away.
Very positive and high energy, i love being a caregiver because being able to help with elderly let's me know that there is someone who cares for them besides family that is willing to be there for them. A personal achievement would have to be communication because it is very hard to communicate with clients who have trust issues due to previous workers.
