Being a caregiver is not something one picks it sort of picks you! I became a caregiver many many years ago. When I seen family members who could no longer care for their loved ones which leading them to be placed in care of strangers and or facilities, or the sad endings of passing away. I am a mother of three children. I enjoy being a mother and being a provider to them. I understand that it is very challenging to juggle the two but I guess that comes naturally being a mother. Your work is never finished. I am proud to say I have had the most excellent experiences while being a caregiver. Two of my clients I was with for several years up until the day they departed earth. It truly reminds you of how precious life is. I have had time invested in working in large facilities were I was responsible for the care of 15 or more patients. I enjoyed it, but enjoy one on one care the most. I do not only bond with the individual I also try to build a relationship with the family as well. Not being able to spend time with the loved ones who needs the care is very trying on the family members. I totally understand that. I just want to be able to continue to make a difference for people who need the extra help. Its a blessing to me to have so much passion for this line a work. I aim to provide extraordinary care for each and every individual I interact with!
Hi all! Ever since I was little I knew I had a passion for nursing. Working in nursing homes and now home care has reassured me, nursing is the job for me! What I love about being a caregiver is the one-on-one time. I am allowed to really get to know a person, not just read their charts and talk strictly medical history. Home-care allows me to create a relationship that is unable to be made anywhere else.
