I care for others as if they are my own family. My way of thinking is treat them as I'd want someone caring for my grandparent/parent to be treated. I became a caregiver after watching my grandfather being cared for. I love being a caregiver. Since childhood I wanted to be a nurse but since becoming an stna I prefer the one on one vs just giving them their medication. I completed my two year medical assistant degree.
Patient, kind and smiling, with positive approachable attitude, serving my client to the best of my ability. At 62, I consider myself able bodied, unencumbered, and semi-retired. My previous travels to five continents is perhaps an advantage in conversation to caregiving clients, it mostly adds a smile and an expression of wonderment, thereby adding to journey in conversation. My love for love for animals is ten fold, also an advocate for nature.
I make a great caregiver because I focus on their needs and not their wants. What attracted me to being a caregiver was my grandmother was a caregiver and inspired me. I enjoy putting smiles on people faces and making their day go a lot smoother. Personal achievements that's im proud about are being a great impact on other's lives
Caring for people as if they are a part of my own family is the secret to my success. My family is full of healthcare workers that have provided great examples and the very reason that I am able to offer a higher standard of care for the past 26 years. My goal is to make a difference in the healthcare field by getting back to people being just that and not just a number in a chart.
