I've always been one to care for others. My empathetic nature makes its a natural experience. I am a detail oriented person, which I find to be necessary in this field. I decided to get my CNA as a way to exercise my abilities to be a caregiver to others. I have since begun other ventures in life, but still hold a special place in my heart for caregiving

My initial interest in caregiving began when I started caring for my Grandmother who was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 1987. I saw the difference it made in her life to have someone available and willing to help her with the things that most of us are able to take care of ourselves. We take for granted every day that we are healthy and able to perform these tasks. It is a blessing to have someone who is available to help us with these things when we are no longer able to do them. In my time as a caregiver, I feel that I have seen and helped with everything from the most basic needs to the most complex. There isn't much that scares me. I am easily able to let difficulties with even the most challenging clients slide right off my back. I have thick skin and I am not easily offended. When I accepted the position with Visiting Angels back in 2011, not only was I able to supervise a crew of approximately 65 caregivers but I had the opportunity to occasionally assist with filling in for those caregivers in the event of an emergency. Since moving here to Florida in late 2015 I have not had the opportunity to work directly with clients since my work now is mostly computer and phone related supervisory duties, remotely from home. I miss the hands on care and the one on one relationships that are formed when caregiving. I am very interested in helping to supplement my income while making a difference in someone else's life. Now that we have moved back to the Greenville, SC area, I am ready to get started!

Patient, kind and smiling, with positive approachable attitude, serving my client to the best of my ability. At 62, I consider myself able bodied, unencumbered, and semi-retired. My previous travels to five continents is perhaps an advantage in conversation to caregiving clients, it mostly adds a smile and an expression of wonderment, thereby adding to journey in conversation. My love for love for animals is ten fold, also an advocate for nature.

I have been a caregiver for 28 years. I have worked in nursing homes, assisted living, hospitals and in private homes. I love my job. I enjoy knowing that my care and love has helped people and saved people. It is very self satisfying to see someone light up and smile when I come in their room or their homes. I'm a great caregiver because I'm kind and compassionate I'll go above and beyond for my clients or residents .my mema was diagnosed with copd and congested heart failure I had become her caregiver to take care of her and I realized that it was passion . I enjoy helping people thay can't or aren't able to take care themselves just being able to do something good for someone else and make there lives a little less hard. I have experience working in the home as well as at an assisted living facility. A couple of years at the facility I worked in the "Memory Care" (dementia and Alzheimers) homes.
