Compassionate and caring LNA. Focused and hardworking. Care giving to me is rewarding in more ways than a typical 9-5 office job, it's about making a difference. I enjoy having a positive impact and being able to help people. I'm proud of making a change of career to LNA after two degrees and a life in sales and management. My happiness in work is more fulfilling to me than the dollar sign behind it.

I treat my clients as though they are my family. I always put my self in their shoes. The pain they go through everyday, the frustration of they can't get what they want or understand certain things like they used to. I am always on time. I became a caregiver when I took care of my 80 year old grandmother 10 years ago. She couldn't help her self in every aspect of life, this was so frustrating for her. When I gave a helping hand she was so happy that it rejuvenated her. It was a good feeling to see her smile again. I love caregiving because I love my job but first and foremost I love putting a smile on my clients faces, this makes my day. Personal achievement is I have managed to take my kids to good schools in Africa as well as build my wife and kids a nice home

Ever since freshman year in high school, I have always wanted to do something that related to the medical field. First it was orthopedics and then pharmacy. I did not know that my mind would change to care giver until my junior year. I took a health science technology class starting my junior year. It was a two year class. Junior year was more focused on anatomy and physiology and Senior year we got to decide which path we wanted to go down. I chose the LNA path. I have always wanted to help people and going towards this path seemed like a sure-fire way to get there. I loved doing my clinicals at the two nursing homes near my school. It was an amazing experience. Knowing that I can help someone get through their day a little easier meant the world to me. Almost six years after graduating high school, I am still doing what I love and taking care of the people that need it the most.

I have over 30 years experience working in Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities and in Private Home Care. I've listened to and have personally felt loved ones fears and concerns. I have also been blessed with wonderful friendships with elders and their families. In offering my services I will provide personal care and assist in all areas of daily living as well as sensitive and friendly companionship. I will also provide transportation to but not limited for errands, shopping, doctor visits, social outings and Church. I have become, what I consider myself to be, an amazing caregiver. I have a huge heart and i tend to put everyone I care for above and beyond everything else. I listen carefully to peoples needs as well as wants and do my very best to provide what is expected by them or the families NO QUESTION. I decided I wanted to be a caregiver at a young age. My grandmother was diagnosed with dementia and everyone in my family brushed it off as just 'old age'. Well, I wanted to learn more about this dementia and see what I could do to help better her life and the lives of others in this predicament. What I am proud of most is all the positive feedback from families as well as co-workers, managers included, about how great I am and how lucky a place or family is to have me. I have many personal achievements but the one I am most proud of, is I will ALWAYS and forever as long as I am caring for loved ones of my own or others, put quality over quantity. Ever since I was a child I knew three things for sure. First I wanted to become a nurse, secondly a wife and last but not least a mother. I am definitely one of the lucky ones, who has been able to live my dream. I have worked in labor and delivery, NICU and hospice in hospitals at various points. I did stay home for quite a few years to raise my amazing 2 sons. About the time I was ready to get back into the workforce, life happens. I was diagnosed with cancer, and went through a divorce. These things only helped to give me the little push I needed to jump right back in head first. I can not put an exact pin on exactly why I enjoy at home nurse care, but it totally fulfills me. My patients are amazing, become family and give me so much joy. I enjoy helping them to enjoy life, all while allowing them to keep their dignity and not feel totally dependent on me. I am extremely reliable, and trustworthy. I can provide references as needed, and still I'm contact with most of my patients families. (One of my hospice patients daughter, myself and other aides still meet for dinner once a year). I do become emotionally attached, and make no excuses for it.
