I've always wanted to be in health care since the age of 3. When I was in high school my mother had a stroke & I helped her with recovering. I orginally received my STNA in 1990 when I was a freshman in high school, and I have been doing that type of work since. I absolutely love taking care of people, helping them in their time of need, meeting their needs in advance, organizing their life and being a companion and a friend. I'm fully certified by the state of Ohio as a STNA; I completed a 12-week training course at PHOENIX HEALTH CARE TRAINING CENTER .Prior to becoming a STNA. I obtained certification as a HHA prior to that , so I hold that distinction as well. I'm a 20 year old female just finished school for emergency medical service I have a background in health care and providing care for those with special needs because I have a sister who I provide care for I enjoy working with others and providing amazing care. I love the type of work I do. I take car of my residents as if they are my own family. I like to sit and listen to stories or problems my residents may have. I realized I wanted to be a caregiver when I found joy in helping others and putting smiles on others faces. Something I enjoy most about being a caregiver would definitely be the bonds and relationships I have made with my residents even family members of those residents.

According to all my past employers I am very caring, patient, and very empathic, especially when it comes to helping residents. I believe I gathered those traits and what really attracted me to this field, is from being around and taking care of my grandparents who both have had a heart surgery, and diabetes and my Grandpa, who is an amputee, and has kidney failure and then my Grandma, who has Parkinson and Alzheimer's disease. An achievement that I am proud of is getting my STNA license and CPR certified by the age 16 through my high school and taking an EMT, and Phlebotomy course as well.
