I first started working in health care when taking care of my mother in her last few years with dementia. I was an English teacher for most of my adult life and have found healthcare fulfilling because of my ability to connect with people and to communicate with people to understand their needs.

I became a caregiver at the age of 18 simply because I needed a job and it was available to me.That was 20 years ago. Since my first client I fell in love with the job. I love being able to help people stay in the comfort of their own homes whether it be a temporary illness or end-of-life care. The pride I get from helping the families I have worked with throughout the years warms my heart. Many clients start to feel like family. It is a emotional heartbreaking experience sometimes watching someone take their last breath, but It is an honor being there to hold someones hand during this experience.

I volunteered as a candy stripper when I was 12 years old,I really enjoy the atmosphere in the medical field.i volunteered for 6 years, I experienced all departments in the hospital,through x-ray .transportation dept,water aide on the floor,taking gifts ,newspapers, flower etc to the rooms,really enjoyed it,front desk help.From there i went to Cleveland institute of dental ,medical assistant school. Went to get state tested for STNA as well.I perfer homecare one on one and get to know my clients to have companionship.Meet there daily needs instead of being rushed to get them up ,spend more time with them ,with daily activities. Meal preparation exercises and get to know there routine down,consistency,I Am very passionate, caring ,flexiable,responsible honest,would like to help someone that needs the care.My children are out on there own now to time for me to help others out.

Taking care of people has always been what I wanted to do in life. As a child I'd watch my mom leave for work in her "cool" uniform and I couldn't wait to hear about her "friends". I remember thinking I was gonna do that one day. At the age of 15 yrs. I got my 1st job at a nursing home and found that this is exactly what I want to do! I've learned so much through the years just listening to their life stories. I enjoy spending time with them and seeing them smile/happy is the greatest gift I could receive.
