I have been a Licensed Vocational Nurse since 2011. All I have ever wanted to be was a nurse. I love getting to know my patients on a personal level as well as offering the best care possible. Since obtaining my license I have worked at a long term care facility where I cared for 32 residents as well as a behavioral health center. I have a lot of experience with various medications, wound treatments and diabetic care. I strive to give every one of my patients the kind of care I would want my family members to receive. I look forward to working with you.

I am a register nurse and I retired in May 2014 when I moved from Reno, Nv. to Mckinney, Tx. After a year of retirement I missed nursing and the one on one contact with patients but did not wish to return to the shift work, overtime, week-ends etc, so I tried caregiving and loved it. I graduated from nursing school in 1966 and work steadily until 2014. I have worked in the areas of neurosurgical intensive care, renal dialysis, home health, psychiatry, alcohol and drug abuse. My last place of employment was the Washoe Co Jail in Reno, Nv where i worked for over 11 years as a psychiatric nurse. I am independent and self starting with a great work ethic. I approach each client as a unique individual with unique needs and desires and I encourage them to let me know what those are. I am patient and nonjudgemental. I like building a relationship of trust and rapport with my clients. I like the satisfaction of helping them to enjoy the highest level of health and wellbeing as possible. When I worked for United Health Care I was chosen as employee of the quarter.
My personality traits are include being compassionate, energetic, honest, kind, warm, and understanding. I decided to become a caregiver to help others. I enjoy my job because I love taking care of others in any way possible. I am most proud of the fact that I will be there 100% for the person I care for no matter what.
As a kid growing up with a single mom of 5 kids. My life started with health care and going to work with my mom. I loved it as a kid. At that moment I wanted nothing more than to be a nurse like my mom. But of course as I got older and being the oldest I had to start caring for my siblings. As the end of high school approached I was determined to go to nursing school. Then I had gotten a job at a facility working as a caregiver. That's when I had noticed the difference I never saw as a kid. Yes, nursing jobs are so important but they are swamped with fitting so many patients medically and paperwork, they never had to the time as a caregiver did to hang out, interact, and make a difference that I actually wanted to make. Now after so many years of caregiving my new goal is to open up an assisted living. Currently accepting new patients. Open Availability

I've always loved being around older folks because I love hearing stories, gaining wisdom, and being able to make them laugh, smile, and be happy. Since then, I have gained elderly care experience so I can more aptly care for my favorite people. I love being able to keep people feeling happy and productive, not trapped in a room. They feel like they have someone on their side and to talk to and that will care for them. Let me be that person.
