I am a medical student. I'm working on getting my RN as well as my bachelors in healthcare management

I think I'm a great caregiver because I genuinely care about others. I treat people the way I want myself or my family members treated. I have enjoyed a 32 year career as a Respiratory Therapist primarily with children in a hospital setting, but being a caregiver doesn't have age restrictions! I am now an active empty nester and am looking to continue caring for others outside of the hospital setting in a little more flexible way. :)

A little about me... I've been a certified nurses aide for over 20 years. I've worked in nursing homes, private sitting and I've worked in Hospice for the past 10 years. I love what I do. Since i started working as a CNA, I've gone to school to do other things, but I keep coming back as a CNA, so I feel this is my passion. My children are grown and I have 3 amazing and beautiful grand children, and another on the way. That's a little about me....

There is a wonderful feeling that I get when I see a flower in bloom. I may have started with only a seed, but I plant in the richest soil and add the warm loving embrace of sunshine and the gentle touch of rain. Although I'm not much on botany, I get this feeling when I see a beautiful person in my care bloom with radiance and enthusiasm for life once again. This is the joy that I have as I share my passion with the loved one's that you entrust me with. Care is more than jobs or chores or tasks that needs be done. It's doing what I love, to increase the quality of life in those that need it the most and keeping the energy and zest for life alive in those that don't. Hi! First off, I admire the families that choose to hire someone to help their loved ones and not take the option of putting them in a nursing home. I have never been more content or more pleased then having a job as a caregiver. You're able to bring life back into the home, become apart of the family and commit yourself whole heartedly. I prefer to wear scrubs on the job. My job duties for the last 6 years as a caregiver w/ my most recent patient/s are as follows. . Cooking, cleaning, running errands such as groc shopping, driving them, pill mgmt and doctor appointments, I'm knowledgeable in Alz/ Dementia as well. As for the ladies I do gardening, decorating, manicure and pedicures as well as hair. I'm very organized and keep everyone on schedule. I'm a hard worker. I'm cpr/ first aid licensed and am also certified nursing assistant,I will take care of their bandages or any other wounds. I will go above and beyond for you and your family as if it's my own and I'm very good at keeping them company I have learned so much from bonding w/ the elderly. I love what I do. I won't let you down. I have commendable references also! Traveling is not an issue as long as it fits my schedule and it is the hourly wage is feasible. Allow me to help you and I can make things much easier on your loved one and their stay at home.
