I have worked in nursing home, hospital, home care, senior facility, respite care, private duty, direct care service, and hospice care, and trained in massage. I like to challenge myself as a caregiver with promoting new work skills. My time is giving care to others, that cannot do for themselves. My personality is kind, friendly, outgoing and compassionate, especially about my job and helping others. The ability to make a positive difference in someone else's life is what attracted me to being a caregiver. I enjoy most the interaction with the clients and making them feel comfortable in their current surroundings. I am proud to have been recognized as a person that is capable of working with any client where others had difficulty. Being able to relate and communicate with the clients and having over 20yrs in the field is something I am very proud of.

I believe what makes me a great caregiver is because I am patient, compassionate, reliable, honest and I have some experience. I did not know about care giving until I came to this Nation and my family members introduced me to it and after doing it for a few months I started to enjoy taking care of people in need and I have been doing it ever since. What I like most about being a caregiver is when am taking care of a patient and am able to help them do what they could not do by themselves and see the face brighten and smile. My personal achievement that am proud of is handling a combative patient make them calm and they accept care, take their medications and meals.
There is a wonderful feeling that I get when I see a flower in bloom. I may have started with only a seed, but I plant in the richest soil and add the warm loving embrace of sunshine and the gentle touch of rain. Although I'm not much on botany, I get this feeling when I see a beautiful person in my care bloom with radiance and enthusiasm for life once again. This is the joy that I have as I share my passion with the loved one's that you entrust me with. Care is more than jobs or chores or tasks that needs be done. It's doing what I love, to increase the quality of life in those that need it the most and keeping the energy and zest for life alive in those that don't.
