Caregiving has been my calling and career for the past thirly years. I have worked in a variety of health care settings. However, homecare has been mostly my focus. I enjoy assisting clients to remain in the comfort of their homes. I am a self starter, diligent, attentive and compassionate caregivers. Hello, my name is Elisa I am 59 years old My caregiving started in 1995 , as my Mother became ill , I knew she would want a high level of in home care that I would personally be able to provide. As her illness became more advanced , it was important to me that she be able to stay in her home where she would be more comfortable. A few time a week turned into every day, then several hours a day. My Mothers wishes to be at home in her time of need was fulfilled . And it was a blessing and a honor to be there for her. I found myself wanting to give other families the same opportunity my Mother was given. I continued working closely with other families as well as with the IHSS of King Co. from 1995 till 2001.Then in California in Contra Costa Co. From 2002 - 2009 then , I returned back to Washington State where I have continued my work with private families. I am available to start giving the best care to your loved ones or yourself and give the same opportunity to remain safely in your home. I am currently approved, on the Home Health Care Registry . I started of in the caregiving field with taking care of my grandfather. In the process I got to learn a lot and I did enjoy doing it. I treat every client like my own family with love and compassion. Every client had different needs, so I get to understand the client first and foremost. I mostly enjoy the learning process in caregiving, no matter how long one has been a caregiver, we get to learn new things every time. I once had a client who had dementia (late stage), who did not want to go to bed (it was late at night). One thing that the client enjoyed was watching animal documentaries . I showed the client pictures of different animals that I had taken when I went to Kenya and the client calmed down and I was able to redirect the client to bed. My patience with the client helped me assure the client that I was on her side. This scenario really made me proud of the caregiver that I'm becoming. I love what I do.

My name is Veronica,I have been a care gave for over fifteen years,I came from Kenya and in Kenya I was an Agricultural officer, working in a Research Station, doing research on new varieties of new seeds.Besides being an officer in a Research Station,I used to visit seniors in their homes,I loved to cook for them ,wash clothes give them company and also give them my own food,which made me very happy and I felt sense of fulfliment ,when I put a smile on their face.So when I came to this country,I found that there are seniors as well,I felt this was my define calling.and I went for it,I enjoy alot when I make a difference in someone's life,I.like to work and help those who cannot be able to help themselves any more,I do this work in great love and compassion and a touch of faith.

I believe am a good caregiver with my empathy and compassion. By showing both empathy and compassion makes me feel the person am caring for know that i care about and want to do what i can to help them. I am patient, quality of work , dependability, flexible, and i believe i give good report. Am also a happy and smiley person.

I have also owned my own adult family home for over 10 years and was very hands on at my adult family home. I enjoy being about to give the best care I can to the seniors that I give care to. I am a Certified Nurse Assistant with 8 years experience working in different healthcare facilities. My CPR and First aid cards are current and l have a valid TB test results which is negative. I love being a caregiver because l love being in a helping profession. I cared for my grandmother and it was a joy to have been able to care for her. I also have an associate degree in Business Management. So l can manage resources well. I am social, a good listener, soft spoken and patient. My hobbies are reading, swimming and watching movies.

I have about 32 years of experience being a caregiver. I use to own my own Caregiver agency but, it took me away from providing personal care to my clients, I decided to give that up so I could work closer with the client. I've provided care for individuals with MS. I currently work part time for the State of Washington as a certified Care Giver & I have a couple of part time clients . I feel & have been told I'm a great caregiver because I think of others first, filling the needs of others before myself. I think the best way to be a affective caregiver is to really have consideration for the fact that, it could sometimes be Very humiliating having someone to provide care for you & to treat others as you want to be treated. I always talk to my clients and helping them to see that I do understand how it feels to be able to once have done things for yourself and now to have to rely on someone else. I also forgot to mention that I have a daughter who lives with me, she's now 30 and she's been on dialysis for about 10 years and so I have quite a bit of experience in the medical field. I was also certified as a CNA for about 20 years I am not currently certified but, have loads of experience working with the elderly, I've worked on my own, in nursing homes & hospitals. I've worked for the State of California in a Veterans home for about 10 years just prior to me coming to Seattle. I've been in Seattle for 14 years.
